I enjoyed Vigilante 8 almost as much as I enjoyed Twisted Metal 2. I will admit that V8 had better physics, and better graphics, as well as its own unique soundtrack.
I also still own V8: Second Offense for the Dreamcast. I'm not sure about the PlayStation or N64 versions, but on the Dreamcast, you could unlock all the levels from the original game, allowing you to use the new vehicles on those as well.
Better then Twisted Metal, but not Twisted Metal 2. A remake is in the works for the 360 as a XBLA game, due out in Spring this year. 8 player online play!jasonbeats
I agree with your thoughts on Twisted Metal 2. I had countless hours of fun beating it on the hardest difficulty with every character, and all the all-nighters playing co-op. That was the first game I remember playing really amazing co-op.
I'm pretty excited about Vigilante 8 coming to the Live arcade,
that game was so ahead of its time. I remember trying to blow up all the buildings and destroying the gas stations so I could jump them.TrooperManaic
