Making another playthrough in GUN, and it's still good. IMO, I think RDR got some of their ideas from this game.

I wonder if there will ever be a GUN 2 ? (of course the game would have to be longer)

If they did it would feel a bit too similar to RDR, but it would be great anyway: we're not exactly swimming in western-themed games.

I didn't think too much of the first one, so no.

There's no need for it. We have Red Dead Redemption and it is wonderful.

More competition pushes people to innovate even further, so I'd say, go for it, Activision. Stop milking COD so much, and pour more money into building other, successful franchises to boost your reputation.

Gun was barely passable when it released seven years ago and RDR soundly trounced it in every possible way. It was an average game that has rightfully been forgotten because it was an incredibly brief and shallow experience.

Also, there was nothing innovative in GUN and certainly not much for Rockstar to borrow. Bear in mind that RDR was already in pre-development before GUN even came out. If anything, GUN borrowed a few ideas from Red Dead Revolver, the precursor to RDR.

Given that Rockstar is planning on a follow-up to RDR, I cannot fathom a need for GUN 2.

Exactly. Activision has so much dam money that they could make amazing games, but they decide to milk CoD. Gun is a good game, which is similar to RDR, but they have many differences too. I want the developers to branch out and work on different games other than just military shooters every single year.

Gun 2 could have a lot of potential for being a great game, if done right.

As others have ointed out RDR fits that bill quite nicely.

That said Gun was one of the first games I bought this generation and I had nothing but fun with it. (Even if its "open world" consisted of two very small towns and a cave.)

Really? If you have a ps2, buy it. It's only about 8 bucks now. It's a free roaming western game, similar to RDR. It does have a small roaming world though.

o i c. It released for 360 too, but don't expect anything you havent seen before. It's a last generation game, and I don't know if they updated the graphics for the 360 either. But if it's for sale for about $10 bucks, it would be worth a buy.

Sure, I liked Gun. I liked the more cartoony western feel to it.

You can find an Xbox360 copy for $5 bucks fairly easily.

RDR kinda made GUN completely moot.

I will admit, I had more fun with GUN than I did with Read Dead Revolver.

I liked Gun. Not necessarily an amazing game, but a solid western. If they make a sequel, though, there needs to be more things to do between towns.

Ya, they would have to do a lot to compete with RDR. But I see a ton of untapped potential in a GUN 2 game.
