[QUOTE="Foolio1"]You can check the ESRB's web site for a list of games. Most of them are gambling games with sexual themes. Major retailers don't carry AO rated games.marty_81And console comanies don't allow them on their systems.
According to the news story. Not surprising to say the least, really.
I've always heard of this rating but I have never seen one or even really heard of an AO game other than Manhunt 2 and the first version of GTA. Is there a lot of these games or just a couple? Where do you get them? lol over the counter at Gamestop or at adult book stores? It's a complete mystery to me.wallpaper42
The firt versionj of GTA was rated T.

No GTA was Mature and GTA 2 was TeenI think there was one dating sim awhile ago on the PC that was AO. I believe it was the first and only AO game at the time.CJL182singles flirt up your life! was not AO, it was M.
Sony, MS, and Nintendo can all go jump off a bridge. We need a console manufacturer with a nut-sack between its legs. Someone who`s willing to let video games off its leash.Conjuration
I'd like to see some AO games be released as well, but it's just too risky for hardware companies. You know some kid is going to get his hands on an AO game, do something stupid and crazy, and the hardware companies will get the blame despite the parents' lack of control over what the kid is playing. The hardware company would take such a big hit from negative publicity from it.
AO games will not be released on consoles. They don't want the hassle plus they won't get any money from the sales since retail establishments don't carry AO rated games.
Console makers only allow rated games lower then AO to be put on the system. If some third party came up and sold a game on a console without the console makers permission that third party would be sued out of existance.
Rockstar will edit Manhunt 2. Likely just a few cutscences will be toned down or camera angles changed. They made some scences in the punisher game black and white as well as changing camera angles to get a M rating. Yup the Punisher for the PS2 and Xbox was originally rated AO due to the interogation parts especially the wood chipper one.
If some of the rumored stuff in the AO Manhunt 2 is true then Rockstar is lucky they aren't getting slapped with obscenity charges.
No idea if what is in quotes is true about the game. Sawitposted on several placesonline. No idea if it is anyway accurate but you could see why this would get an AO rating or be banned in several countries.
"The ultra-violent videogame Manhunt 2 allows you to rape a woman shortly after you beheaded her in the brothel level called Honey Pot. Members of the ESRB were shocked when Daniel Lamb used his male reproduction organ and simulated a penetration in the bloody hole. Other gruesome parts include microwaving a living cat to death and being a witness of necrophilia in a cemetery in one of the later stage of the game."

You're probably right.
Everyone: Just keep taking your kids to McDonalds because you're too lazy to cook and then plop them down in front of the tv with a new game to keep them busy for awhile.
Disgusting.
This is really too much to get into. My god, I could type on this forever. There's too many branches on this tree.

Actually if they sold the sytem like they do with cigarettes then theres no problem. If they slap a label on saying "canONLY be sold and playedto people above the age of 18" then theres no problem, and parents would get in trouble if their children get their hands on it because its for adults only. Then the publicity would be on the parents, "2 parents allow their 9 year old child watch dirty stuff!" Then its off to social services lol.

What does it matter? Even if they allowed the game to be released on their console no Brick and Mortar store is going to sell the game. I wonder if Amazon or Buy.com or even Overstock.com would sell them.
Europe won't even let the game touch their shores or its off to the stockades with you!
