I know how they make alot of fuss on manhunt 2 not being able to come out as it should and had to be edited. But i think they should sell xbox,ps3, and wii games that are AO rated at ADULT (xxx) stores where they only allow adults in. I think that would lower the fuss on kids getting a copy.

The problem is that the big three companys (Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony) wont allow these games to be published on their consoles period. There is no way an AO rated game will ever see the light of day on a console until their internal policies change.

They'd better change their policy. I'm getting tired of all the kid style games coming out. I want more adult oriented games. I can only jump on turtles heads for so long before it starts to bore me to death. Give me hardcore violence, and nudity please. Adult gamers unite!

As much as I'd like for this to happen, they'll never change their internal policies. If they did, you know some kid is gonna get his hands on an AO game, and at least one of the companies would recieve MAJOR negative publicity. There's just too much at risk, so they don't allow AO games on their systems. I still don't see why Rockstar won't sell the original AO version online for PC. It would be the only way to distribute the game since no major retailers will sell AO games, and I'm sure a lot of adults would be willing to pay and download the original uncut version.

Dude, if I was a billionaire and just had pools of money around, I would offer Rockstar $100 million or something if they got it on the Wii with Nintendo's approval. That's the problem right now- there is no financial incentive to force the 3 to allow AO games on because so few that are actually good exist.

Hey man, I'm with you there... definitely needs to be some sort of focus on perhaps an "adult only genre".

As for violence, though, that's covered to a degree in large part on in PC gaming.

Though, honestly, I'd like to see some devs/publishers be willing to "push the boundaries" with some truly visceral violence and more adult-oriented themes.

Yeah, I would like to see more AO games.

The only way this will happen is if digital distrobution for the PC takes off.

yes there have, but i'm not sure if its appropriate to list some of them. Leisure suit Larry games usually are AO and there's a *cough* jenna *cough* jameso- game :) the jenna game is sorta boring after the first 15 minutes tho

I don't think they should have AO simply for T&A but it should be there simply so developers have more freedom and can push the boundaries a bit.

Now I know there are games out there that shouldn't be played because they go to a certain degree of violence etc. But should the government dictate how I want to play video games. It is annoying to have the government come in and say what games should or shouldn't be made. And they made this whole thing because of the student shooting at school and blamed video games. But even further back to the issue of Mortal Kombat and their finishing moves. I don't believe violent video games has any impact on people to make them become violent. But there should be research done on that to prove anything. And also, Sony, Mircosoft, and Nintedo all stray away from AO rated games and most stores don't sell them like Best Buy or Target. Games should be decided to be played be us who buy them not dictated by politicians. That's why there are ratings on games and game stores check ID to those who buy them. So my issue isshouldn't be banned buy the government.

Wait a minute.. Here in the UK Bioshock got an 18 rating, isn't that just the same as an AO? Since you are an adult at 18 by law.

I would notlike to have to go to a porn store to buy my games. It bothers me that a violent game needs to be "AO", but you never hear of a violent film being rated XXX. I personally don't see why the M rating, which means 17 or older, isn't sufficient.

its funny how murder violence and explicit language are absolutley fine in video games but the publishers, critics and everyone else goes insane at the idea of sex in video games. its no difference than adult mangas or hentai. if your an adult and want to play these games, why should there be anyone to tell us we cant? in the age of the internet if anyone wants to see explicit content then they will. regardless of there age.im 25 years old, i can watch violence on tv. buy an extremely violent movie on the internet. buy a gun. join a gang. watch the news to see horrific images of violence and death from war zones and murders etc. go to amsterdam and legally sleep with a hooker. i could buy a camera and make my own porno. i can do anything my mind can think off.yet i cant sit in the comfort of my own home and play an adult rated game cos im told im not allowed by companies and governments who have never met me and have never ever asked if i want to play them.Â
