Apparently there's a new Duke Nukem game being revealed soon.

I was looking at my Twitter feed a few minutes ago, and a Youtuber I follow by the name of AlphaOmegaSin (some of you may follow him) posted a link to dukenukem.com. Once you access this link, there's an age gate. After you get through it, there's a countdown that counts down to 8 days (as of this post). About a year ago, Gearbox Software won the IP from 3D Realms in a legal dispute. Could we see a new Duke Nukem game or something else? Could it be good and not rushed like DNF was? What do you think?

It's on my news site and a forum too. I guess we'll see another Duke soon.

By Gearbox? Boy that's a gamble; if they do it in-house, it could be good, but if they outsource, BOOO!!!

Hopefully this one doesn't take 12 years to make.

Might be a remake of Duke Nukem 3D though rather then a new addition to the franchise.

In either case, here's hoping it isn't outsourced to those that did Colonial Marines.

Nope. Would rather it be handled by someone else. Gearbox shouldn't be trusted with any non-Borderlands IP after Colonial Marines.

so I'll probably be playing this on the Zoolander Xenomorph console (made out of match sticks and acid) in the year 2190.

Hmm, who cares what some random shitty youtuber has to say or think.

My guess is that it's clickbait and has as much to do with a new Duke game as my aunt has.

While I'm just as sour as anyone else over Colonial Marines, it was a licensed product and IP. Duke Nukem on the other hand is now OWNED by Gearbox, it's their IP and I can't imagine them making a throwaway game on something they spent a lot of money on to purchase.

Duke needs to catch a break. Duke Nukem 3D is a pure classic, but there hasn't really ever been a return to his 1996 glory. There were a few meh... PlayStation One games, a fairly decent tribute to his early 2-D games in the form of Manhattan Project, but certainly not a best-seller. Then there was Forever which was... okay at best. It had many varied enemies, locations, vehicles, a bit of puzzles and some general semi-fun side-distractions. Still, though. It was a sub-par product.

If Gearbox is bringing Duke back then for god's sake follow the way of Id. Ditch the hand-holding corridor-shooter and go for the winning concept that is the "classic FPS".

I won't hold my breath, though. (Colonial Marines)

Duke Nukem Forever was still an ok game, so I'll probably look into it.

I'm not expecting it to be as great as D00M (2016), but I like a FPS with more gore and provocative non-sense.

That tone itself is a guily pleasure of mine, and have no shame lol.

Just remove the long cutscenes, that was painful cringe in DNF.

New Duke Nukem would be sweet, but they need to it justice. As Buckaroo mentioned before, there hasn't been nearly as good DN game as 3D was and it's a shame. Duke is so much fun, I for one am looking forward to it, if it turns out to be a proper DN game.

I am sure that they'll find some other game they can pick up from another publisher to leech of to finance their own Duke Nukem game.
