Are cheat codes diminishing? I've noticed that ever since Contra games have had cheats. With the most cheats being on the PS2 with the Tony Hawk games and GTA series. But now I am seeing no more just button pressing cheats only cheats that you can buy on the PS store or XBL, like with EA's Need for Speed Pro-street. There was GTA 4 with a few cheats you could put into your cell phone, but I remember there were about 50 cheats on San Andreas. But I don't know maybe it's just me or are cheats becoming extinct?
haha im one of those lazy cheaters i need a couple of cheats. but yes i have noticed that the amount of games with cheat are slowly diminshing but yes there will always be cheats
I would love it if cheats where diminishing, I find cheating in games something for ether bad gamers or just the lazy. But I don't think cheats will ever go away there are always gamers who would rather cheat than play a game properly.
I wouldn't say that they are becoming "extinct" per se, but that they are dwindling down VERY RAPIDLY. Iono, but maybe there are more and more true gamers coming into the world that don't need useless cheats to say they actually "beat" a game..

After you finish a game, why not try it with cheats just for the lulz?
Or if a game is frustrating and it's not fun to reload that boss battle/sequence for the 50th time, why wouldn't someone use cheats? Games are supposed to be FUN, not WORK.
