Are people here familiar with/playing Xenoblade or did it slip completely under?

What with it having a non conventional distribution method in the US, with one only being able to get it at a GameStop or Nintendo's own online store. I know it's probably perhaps readily available in Europe I believe. But in the US it's not available at other brick and mortar stores.

For those that are playing it, which control scheme method did you stick with and prefer? Wiimote, classic controller, etc etc?

I haven't picked it up yet, but I know a few mods have been playing it and say it's quite good.

Given the unique situation, it's not really something you can postpone on buying is it?

Yeah I picked up the game when it came out and it is an excellent game. It's also a huge game as I've yet to finish it and I'm at 90+ hours. Right now I'm using the Wiimote + nunchuck controls. I like the controls for this except on occasion the camera can be a bit awkward to manipulate in battle. I do have a classic control pro so I'll probably try that out with the game later.

I've heard of it but as it's a Wii exclusive it's likely I will never play it.

I brought it the day of the release and I used the Wiimote Nunchuck combo. It works fine for battles and while I'm only 20 hours in, it's a really awesome game. My only gripe is that they didn't bother to use an american voice cast, but the europeans do a great job so it's really a minor gripe.

Operation Rainfall did a better job advertising the game than Nintendo ever could. From what I understand, it performed above GameStop's expectations, at least as far as pre orders were concerned.

I'm playing it right now and love it. I've put in 70 hours and still have a lot left to do. I'm using the Wii remote + nunchuck and it controls great. Did I mention I love this game? :P Seriously though you should get this game if you haven't already. If you like JRPGs at all you'll most likely love this game.

i am in europe and got it day one. brilliant game. it has a few warts but overall its probably the second or 3rd best RPG i have played this gen. it is one of the very very few games on the wii where i do prefer a classic controller setup. unfortunately monolith missed a few tricks with their wiimote/nunchuck implementation..it feels like it was made with the CCpro in mind (i think there was even a version that shipped with a CCpro). but its a game i would have no hesitation in recommending. i just hope the wiiu will enhance wii games with AA and proper upscaling...it would just be a perfect excuse to start it all again :D.

I just picked it up Friday. Not too far into it yet, but wow it's actually nostalgic. The music & environs take me back 10 years. Great, great atmosphere. Finally had to dust off my wife's Wii for it. I'm playing w/ the nunchuck. Takes a little getting used to, but the controls are tight

I'm 35 hours in, just got Riki as a team-mate in Makna Forest (and YES I am taking my sweet time for a reason), and I'm playing it the only way it should be played - with the Classic Controller. The game fits the controller so well I cannot imagine trying to play it with a Wii-mote nunchuck combo (although to be totally honest I do get sort of messed up having the A button where the Circle or B buttons are on the PS3 and 360 controllers - since those are usually the "cancel" buttons I find I have to retrain my mind to use it to "accept").

Even though I am still relatively early in the game I can echo what a lot of reviewers and gamers have been saying: This IS the best JRPG in a long, long time.

Why don't you just use forum search to get your answer?
