Unless you buy the Japanese fighting games, don't bother. The downside - well it's not a downside if you don't watch the *** episdoes with Eng subs - is that the voice acting mirrors the shows and I can't stand hearing a 30-year old trying to sound 13. Somethings just not right...

I thought the fighting aspect of Naruto was quite enjoyable. Although, I would probably recommend it to Naruto fans only. Download a demo or rent it if you can and check it out.

I don't know about the PS2, but the Naruto games on the Xbox 360 were quite enjoyable despite constant backtracking. You have to be a fan of the series to understand storyline in the game

I've got the first ultimate ninja and I got some enjoyment out of it, untill I unlocked all the chars. I tried to play it again a while ago but the voices made me go insane. though If you really like naruto it'd be best to skip to the 3rd one since it seems to have loads more stuff.

Well I don't really care about the storyline. I just want to know if the gameplay is any good.

I only played the one for PS3, but I imagine all Naruto games to be completely fan service. The gameplay was pretty good, but I'm no fan of Naruto, but it still was a decent game.

get the newest one. naruto ultimate 4. its a nice fighting game with flashy special attacks. and most of all its easy to pick-up and play. the moves are easy to pull-off and the price for this game is pretty cheap now. if you enjoy games like dbz budokai 3, then this game is a must buy especially if you watch/read naruto. the graphics is also nice~ you wont be disappointed if you buy this game.
