I'd have to say I'm a solid mediocre at games in general. I'm not one to put in the time really needed to get elite or maybe I'm just averagely skilled. I'd like to get better at fighting games, but I'm too lazy to learn all the moves. If I get stuck in a game, I usually put it aside and move on to something else instead of struggling my way through and getting better. And, at shooters, my k/d is solidly under 1.0. Are you good? What games are you good/bad at?

I'm generally not bad at roleplaying and action games where I have to fight enemies. PVP, I'm terrible at. I mean terrible.

I play MechWarrior Online on occasion when I need to remember how bad I am at PVP. I always open the match by apologizing to people.

Civilization I have fun with. I'm usually the last nation left standing whenever a war starts. Mostly because I ally with both sides, wait until they're done fighting each other, then take the winner. For some strange reason, the first war always involves India as one of the two central powers.

Stardew Valley is also a good one.

And, if I could keep myself from murdering my sims or destroying my city, I'd probably do well at Sims or any city game.

Oh! And I used to have a lot of fun in StarCraft. I was a tower rush player. I'd turtle with enough defenses there was no way you could pound your way into my base before my allies arrived, then just build a line of defenses headed straight into your base. One of the guys who used to regularly team with me got to where he would rush air because he knew I would completely tie up the ground game. I caused one guy to ragequit StarCraft entirely because I took him out using nothing but pylons, workers, and cannons. I learned some very creative profanity from the way he was cussing me out during that. The rest of my team was laughing so hard their main attack against his friends almost suffered a wipe.

Cod I've usually average around 1.4-1.8 (MW3 I did really well for some reason, maybe ACR spam?)

2K I can usually win online, unless its MyTeam and the other player just has bulk Diamond Cards

Dota2 highest MMR was about 3100, so about middle road there. Depending on the style of game, I usually try and finish it on the highest difficulty possible. So without bragging I'd same I'm pretty good, but no way near elite level, or "twitch" level. As long as I'm having fun that's all that matters to me

Are we talking multiplayer experiences only then? Because while I enjoy both, the difference between understanding a real persons tactics and A.I. are vastly different. And for all purposes is about exploiting patterns. It's far easier than it seems if you stick with this philosophy.

I'm not a bragging sort though, however I have been PM'd both praise and hate for victories in competitive multiplayer. Not that I play to win, I'm more the type who just likes the multiplayer experience, and embraces playing games with other people.

Going back to messages; got the most while playing Tekken Tag Tournament 2, got the most worded lectures of disbelief playing Dark Souls III, and most cheerful was playing Monster Hunter 4G (what an awesome community) though that might be due to the censorship on a Nintendo platform.

No. I'm a gamer because it´s entertainment nothing else. So i'm a pretty ordinary player in games.

@narlymech:

Depends on the game. I'm decent in fighting games so long as it's not Street Fighter. The rest, I'd say by genre:

Adventure: 10/10

3rd person shooter: 10/10

1st person shooter: 10/10

Racing: 9/10

Rpg: 8/10

Fighting: 7/10

Horror: 7/10

Survival: 5/10

RTS: 3/10

Dating Sim: 6/10

It depends on the genre. Some genres like platformers, I think I'm pretty good at. Other genres likes fighting games, I'm terrible at.

im ok. middle of the road. i dont play many multiplayer games but when i do i tend to rank somewhere in the middle. i was solid at monster hunter tri. didnt get knocked out much. did my part. but didnt exactly meet the standard of "hit it till it dies, dont get hit" either (more so on the dont get hit side). i managed to win 1 race in trackmania (i dont know how i did that).

single player wise i generally play on normal. i more play for the adventure than the challenge. im rubbish at dark souls 2 and the like. dont have the patience. i managed to beat a knight enemy at the top of some stairs near the start of the game after 4 attempts. not good :S.

I enjoy video games, I don't necessarily know if you'd consider me "good" or not, but I'd like to think I am lol. But seeing as they are a form of entertainment (competition to some) I must be doing something right. =)

Considering that I frequently play on the hardest difficulties and succeed, I suppose I might be slightly above average. Surely I'm far from the best. I move on too quickly to become any kind of expert.

May I ask what games you've finished on top difficulty?

Not trying to be pushy, I'm just generally curious_

@RSM-HQ:

It looks like there weren't really any outside of Battlefield 4 that I played last year, so it may not be as frequent as I thought. I did play and complete Dark Souls and Dark Souls II (and III this year), though they don't have difficulty levels (I did start as deprived though). Some earlier examples would be the Splinter Cell games, Killzone (2 being undoubtedly the hardest on 'elite' difficulty), BioShock games, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, God of War games, Uncharted games, The Last of Us and Dragon Age: Inquisition (for about ¾ of the game before I gave up and lowered it from 'nightmare' to 'hard').

@kingkilla3: Yeah Inquisition got very spongy as the game went on in Nightmare. Wouldn't consider that a loose on your side. All it did was make set-piece battles last an hour each :T

It's the only game you listed I think handled difficulty poorly.

Wouldn't even say Deprived makes DkS hard-mode. That's usually the ng+5 but that requires playing the game multiple times. And at that point you'd have gotten familiar with how the game works very well. Plus most would commit to the PvP for replay-value.

Good list of games though. I'd say you're as good as you claim, or if nothing undermine your ability to handle games most find troublesome_

@RSM-HQ: I haven't yet replayed one of the Souls games (I've played all four plus Bloodborne), so I'm unfamiliar with that. I imagine that deprived isn't much harder generally, especially after a short while. DSII was the only one I had a problem in at the start playing as deprived.

I really wanted to keep going on 'nightmare' in Inquisition. It took too long for me to do certain things, though, so I can't see myself ever trying it again.

@kingkilla3: I like to replay most the Soul games especially DkSII due to how much content is locked into NG+2. DkSIII is my favorite of the series but NG+ only offering new rings and barely a difficulty buff was very disappointing.

I'm good at a few games. There just isn't much games i can enjoy online, specially nowadays. Difficulty in single player also has gone down. Bad developers is what kills me the most. Someone give me a shooter where you actually feel like your shooting at someone, not aim assisted instant death Noob of Duty jumping 10 feet in the air shooting at the same time and no recoil. Anything like Killzone? lol

Puzzle games and platformers live I tend to stuck at. Typically I am the type of person that will hold onto something until I beat it. Sort of a gamer's pride. I don't walk away from the game entirely but will take breaks then hit it up the following day. Great example, I played the first Ecco on Saturday. That game made me want to spew salt from my mouth. The final boss is mind numbingly hard.

Mediocre. Even playing games on easy, I still find most games pretty challenging, especially shooters. Action and hack -n- slash games (Yakuza, Batman, Sleeping Dogs ...), I do much better, only die when facing the bosses.

I'm average I guess. Used to be good at Counter Strike but I absolutely suck at other online shooters, mostly because I hate their pace. On Forza usually my track times are on the top 10%, some even higher. Right now I'm gettin ok on Rocket League.

But performance is rarely on my mind when I play and I think overall I'm average or even below average.

I play roblox and I am fairly good at a game called Roblox Assassin and if I relax I play better. Im good at Mario, Mario Kart and the Professor Layton Series and not too bad at Uncharted if I play on the moderate level. I am horrible at fps shooters however and my kdr on a game called Phantom Forces is 0.58.....and I am on the rank of 16...

I'm bad at shooters that are purely reaction-based. In other words, twitch shooters like CoD or CS. I'm getting too old and slow for that.

I'm better at games that require quick strategical decisions, and which are not too heavily based on just how fast you point and click with a mouse. Even if it's a shooter. Something where your positioning and decision making etc. plays a greater role, like Battlefield, although it has it's share of those twitch moments too.

Oh, and i'm talking about online games here. In singleplayer games you can fairly easily get good at by learning the mechanics and how enemies respond to stuff.
