I returned my first game from philadelphia to pittsburgh last friday afternoon in the mail box which means it started being sent on saturday. Today it is thursday and I still have not been sent a confirmation that they received my game. From Philadelphia to Pittsburgh should it take five days??????? i don't understand

I am a little bit further than you and it takes 4-6 days for me. That Pittsburgh office must be really small--that's my best guess as to why it is so bad. I wish we--the user--could choose which branch we want to deal with cause I would definitely go back to California.

So is it always like this? Then what is the point, 5-6 business days is how long it should take for it to travel all the way to cali or even the texas? distribution center.

Believe it or not I was getting a max of 3 days from California to NY. You should be waiting a max of 2 days...3 tops. My guess as to what else adds to the delays---post office doesn't know to scan it as soon as they get it. If they did that then your next game would ship out before they even received the one you sent in. I wish they shipped like Netflix. It is ALWAYS 1 day turnaround for me.

Yes, I used to have netflix a few months ago and it was 1-2 days which was very impressive. This really is not a good first experience with gamefly I must say :(

I know the feeling unfortunately. Few times GameFly got me so angry with their shipping that I went to another service and they were even slower. One was angelgamer and the other was gamerrang(something close to this name). So needless to say I came crawling back to GameFly twice now. They got a monopoly pretty much:( Unless someone comes along offering competitive pricing and can manage to ship faster that is.

Netflix has a lot more distribution centers and it's easier to stock DVD's since they cost so much less than a game. Gamefly sucks if you live in the wrong area, but it's still a cheaper alternative to buying any game you want to play or waiting 6 months for Blockbuster to have it on the shelf :\

Strange. I'm in Hawaii, needless to say there's no distribution warehouse on any of the islands, but the turn around is usually never longer than 3-4 days for me, 5 tops. That sucks, sorry to hear about that. I'd think living on the Mainland would expedite things drastically.

Those times are abnormally long. Sometimes games get hung up in the mail though.

Most games from GameFly have what they call a fast scan label on them, it means when they are taken to the mail facility, they get scanned and are supposed to tell GameFly that the games are on the way back. Usually if you call them two days after you put a game in the mail, they can check to see if the game has been fast scanned, and if it is they'll go ahead and remove it from your queque.

That's really strange, I sent mine back Tuesday and mine is already here. I also get mine from the Pittsburgh office and I live about 70 miles south of Philly.

Gamefly is pretty notorious for being slower than Oliver Stone. It usually takes at least five days (if not more) for them to receive a game I've sent back to them, and then another five days (if not more) for me to receive the replacement. What makes me even angrier is that they always brag about how they send out your next game the moment your return game is scanned by the post office or something. Yeah, bullcrap.

Yea, GF is definitely a mixed bag. I wouldn't even bother if you:

A) want to rent new titles, or....

B) hate waiting for exchanges.

Other than that, they're OK, albeit a bit expensive.

want to rent new titles, >Rekunta
Actually that is the main reason I use it and the way I do it I always get a new game. I have the one game out plan but it would be easier with 2 or more. Anyway, I play a game up until a new release is about to release and then send mine back. Now there is no timing it for me since I purposely leave only the one new release in my queue. If you don't do it that way don't expect to get new titles. 99% of the time they would grab some obscure game way down my list. I got fed up with that and changed to what I do now and I am much happier. To the 2 users mentioning fast scan. Honestly that has only worked maybe 5 times for me in just about 7 years total. I don't know if my post office sucks at scanning or the problem is on GameFly's end.

I can never get a new title from them. I had a two game plan, but found that I needed to empty my entire Q so that the game I truly wanted was at the top of my list, like you said. I don't know how that works for you, it never did for me. I'd end up waiting weeks and weeks. Now I only have one game at a time and honestly don't even bother trying to get new games until long after their release date.

According to what they told me, it's all about how long you've had any certain unreleased title at the top of your queque. They use seniority in that regard.

That can't be true as I add them up to a day before release into my queue and I get them all the time due to it being the only game in my queue.

It all really depends on what mail is redirected or prioritized and when, from and to where. Or the people that handle the S&R at gamefly don't give a ****.

I do that too most of the time, removing all other games just to get the one i want. Being a long-time-member also helps a lot. If you're new it's much harder to do that.

I like that seniority better than how long you have a game in the queue:P

I also wish I could switch centers. I always wondered if another center in Florida has the game rather than the one I'm using now. I reside in Fort Myers, and I'm using the Tampa distribution center so it isn't far and it only takes 1 or 2 days but they don't have some games that I want.

Last I checked it was California, Texas, Florida and Pennsylvania.

Some people with bigger Netflix subs have said this can happen if you rent a lot and they called it "throttling", don't know if Gamefly tries to do the same....

I don't like gamefly -.-

They made me pay for my last two games.

Even though I did send them before cancelling my membership.
