Both are good but they are not really AC games per say and especially Black Flag is probably one of the best "pirate games" on the market. (which is not that since there are nothing else)

But at least they are not Unity & Syndicate.

Assasin Creed Black Flag is the best in the series in my opinion.

Rouge is pretty much the same as Black Flag, but much shorter. And many of the locations are re-used from AC3

Rogue is not so much bad as it is pointless

honestly, the game just doesn't even belong in the series. It should not have been made. The resources should have been invested elsewhere...probably in AC: Unity since they were released the same freaking year. Unity was a stronger title in gameplay, story, etc but it suffered from I don't know it just didn't feel like it had the production values of the other games.

TL;DR: if you had to pick one, Black Flag is the obvious choice. Both titles are good, though.

Black Flag is really good, better than AC2, which is the only other AC I've played. The ship battles and the story is amazing. Although the ending was ok, not great in my opinion.

Black Flag is awesome, and as mentioned above, probably the best in the series.

Rogue is OK, but not as good.

Rogue was much better than Black Flag in my opinion. Just for the simple fact that it didn't have so many effing "follow the target" missions, although both were really good. It's also an interesting change to play as the "bad guys". Something happens in Rogue due to the Assassins messing with precursor tech that they don't understand that forms the main character's basis for switching sides and after I experienced it I found myself questioning the true morality of the Assassins. Whilst the Templars are by no means good guys, Rogue let's you see that the Assassins can be just as destructive and ignorant and that the entire thing is far more complicated than just red vs blue. The sea combat and exploration in both games is pretty addictive too, so I'd definitely recommend both, but I just found Rogue a slightly more polished experience.

I didn't like Black Flag, so I didn't play Rogue. Black Flag is very fun for about a dozen hours, but then you are just doing the same things over and over again after that. It's one of the more repetitive games I have ever played.

I got bored of Black Flag halfway through and never finished it. While it was decent as a pirate game, I felt like the AC aspect of it held it back.

Somebody should make a pirate game in the same vein, with it's own story... That was the best part about Black Flag to me. I was hoping Sea of Thieves would be that, but it's MP-only :(

I couldn't agree more. An AAA pirate RPG game would be amazing, featuring exploration on both sea and land, deep customization for ships and crews, and of course exciting naval battles which were done just right in Black Flag.

Sea of Thieves seems like a light-hearted and fun cooperative realization of a pirate game. I'm still interested and hoping my friends will want to sail the seas together. :P
