If Ubisoft continues the AC franchise after the third upcoming game, where would you want to see the franchise go next? I think the Mexican-American War, the Civil War, or World War I would be cool.

Feudal Japan :)
Metamania
Would love to see the series go in that direction.
The creative director said Feudal Japan would be boring :(

Which creative director? Not the real mastermind behind the series, Patrice Desliets (who left Ubisoft after they started AC3) probably one of the newbs. If he thinks it would be boring, he needs to expand his creative horizons.
And how does the story in the series make sense in Japan or China?XIntoTheBlueThat's not my decision to make -- I'm not a Ubisoft employee, am I? This thread is asking where we'd like to see the next game set. Don't think too hard, I can see the vein throbbing in your forehead.
Mars.
Captain Shepard is the next Assassin. The Reapers are the Templars. Space Jesus!

A bit off topic, but did you finish ME3? PM me your thoughts, or maybe you could leave them here, since it's impossible for Gamespot to lock annoying troll threads, so it must be OK to talk off-topic.
Well, I see people need to resort to petty insults without expanding on the discussion. Forget this thread. I wasn't trying to be a jerk. Sheesh.XIntoTheBlue
Neither was I. Sorry if it came across that way. I think the point I was making is that this is a fantasy thread, a "what if" kind of deal, that I don't think people are brainstorming how their ideas would tie into current in-game circumstances and characters.
I'm sure if they tried something drastically different it'd have to be a different story-arc altogether.

Yeah it's obvious you weren't trying to be a jerk. But this is the internet...
I apologized. In retrospect, he was just trying to promote discussion. My bad.

No big deal. The G.I.F.T. theory makes fools of us all occasionally.

I posted my impressions in the ROF thread. Will copy and paste here. Never have I been so deflated by a game's ending (or in this case, the entire final mission.).. I was literally depressed for two days after finishing it.
.....I dont think it's a WTF worthy ending like the internet makes it out to be, it's just very bad. I had no idea which of the three choices corresponded to the three control stations. Apparently the one I picked destroyed all Mass Relays. F*** that, that is so not what I had wanted to pick. Not that it matters anyway, the series has always been about the characters and the relationships you've formed over the course of the past three games. What happened to Wrex, Samara, Garrus, Liara, Miranda?
Also, it's not just the ending that felt rushed, it was the entire last level. The game had me collect as many resources as I could for 30 hours to have a better chance at defeating the Reepers and I did. I did every single side mission, got every race to work together, collected every last war asset in the galaxy, scanned the sh*t out of every solar system... got 100% in everything. And all that amounted to nothing... I had only two people fighting by my side in the last battle. ME2's last level was brilliant in that it had you control your entire team of 10. It had more strategic roleplay in one level than the entirety of ME3. I suppose I wanted to control the geth, the turians, the krogans, the assaris and the quarian during that last battle but I barely even got to see them. So what's the point of the entire collectathon when in the end, it didn't even matter.
It's disappointing because the rest of the game was sooo good. I was in love with the game up until the last level. I kept saying to myself that this is better than any Scifi movie I've ever seen, that this is one of the best games of this generation. Hell, by the time I freed the Geth with Legion and Tali, I knew this was my favorite franchise since Metal Gear Solid. It's disappointing because I know I will never play a game with such a rich world and story like this ever again. It needed a proper closure like LOTR. Like five fade-outs and an ending for every single character/race in the game. ;p
Next stop?
The Modern Ware (Fare) - Modern day war, facing off against Russian Templars. I can see it now.
Seriously though the series always seemed like it may be heading towards modern times with Desmond as the main Assassin. We'll have to wait & see how AC3 plays out for that.
You do know that someone from Ubisoft said that feudal Japan is boring to make, and will not be made...ever!Feudal Japan :)

I think a setting during a period of the early Chinese dynasties would be quite cool.
Vari3ty
Yeah, that would be amazing!
Will there be AC3 sequels like Brotherhood and Revelations before we see a whole new setting again?hoot710I don't think there's any way Ubisoft doesn't milk this new setting and these new assets for a few more games. Expect to see another game every holiday season until people stop buying them.

I think they should pull some unknown person out of another animus in the far future... someone who has been reliving Desmond's memories.
