Attending E3 2013- Will I pass?

Hi there- sorry if this is the wrong place to post but am not that used to the GS forums!

Basically my friend is a well known gaming youtuber and is going to E3 in 2013. His agent says that he should be able to get me a ticket to accompany said friend to the event. I have however been looking at the event's site and they seem to pretty clear that you have to show credentials that you are part of the gaming community in some form, which evidently I am not, other than my being a friend of someone who is. (I should point out that I will probably be doing camera work for him etc. so maybe this affects my chances of being allowed in)

I realise that this is probably a fairly unique situation but was basically wondering whether anyone might have a bit more knowledge of the event than me! If my friend explains the situation to the organisers and I get a ticket does that get me in? Or is a ticket not the be all and end all as obviously I don't want to pay a grand for a flight to LA with a ticket only to be turned down on the door for not really being a member of the gaming community.

If you're attending as a cameraman for your friend, you should be able to get in. Not sure what you specifically have to do, though.
