While it is true that his videos are more professional looking, more tame, I don't think he's 'Sold Out'. Selling out implicates that he's given up his radical ideas and style of filmmaking for $, and if you look at his stuff, the idea and concept behind them remain the same. I've never met him, but from what I've heard, he's a nice, quiet guy - not arrogant or abrasive by any means.
Does he make money from his works? Most definately. But... everybody has to get paid, don't they? Sorry, but that's not selling out.
That was the most epic ending I've ever seen! Lol!RACiEP
I liked the ending more in the 99th episode (Star Wars) If you've already seen it then you know what I mean. If not then I won't spoil it for you ;)
At last, he reviews something anyone's actually heard of. Shame it has to be as overblown as always, not giving much in the way of context.

So what you are saying is that you would rather watch a cheap knock-off product than the original deal. Or are you just trolling.

CrankyStorming
Was it entertaining? yes Was it funny? yes what else do you expect out of these videos?
Hes playing an over the top character that hates crappy games/accessories and if the games are not crappy he finds the most minuscule crappy things about them.
He's also reviewed zelda roger rabbit ninja turtles have you never heard of those??
Personally I thought it was one of his best episodes yet, and it was pretty funny on many levels.
Some of you are complaining about him choosing an accessory and two games that were not widely known? Give me a break. Sometimes watching about a relatively unknown game or gaming device is more interesting. You get to laugh and learn at the same time. When I was old enough tostart gaming, the 16 bit era had just started. I only owned an NES because my uncle gave me one a few years after I hd started gaming with the SNES, and even though I did get to experience some classic NES games, most of his NES reviews are on games I never played. Yet I find most of them hillarious and I learn about some guys I knew nothing about
Some of you are calling him a sellout or a ripoff? Seriously? Since he has signed a deal with gametrailers, the quality of his videos has gone up and they are not any less funny from when he started. Regardless of whether he was making money from doing these episodes or not, you know he would still be producing him. Why not let the guy make some money off his creativeness. You can tell he still enjoys making these episodes. Sellout.......Could not be any farther from the truth.
Anyhow, its great to see James get to 100 episodes!
Idk. I feel like the AVGN's older videos were better. Watching most of his more recent reviews seem lacking and I find my safe more interested in the stuff he shows in the intro than the actual review! I also don't care for how people regard him as an authority on video games. In some reviews there are things I know from personal experience that he doesn't even mention. A good example of that is with this review. He fails to mention that both Gyromite and Stack Up have built in 72 to 60 pin converters. Overall he can be good for entertainment(even though his older videos seem to be better) but as for information, I would much rather watch some youtube reviewer that puts information over entertainment.PersonNinja
What do you mean by "72 and 60 pin converters"?

What do you mean by "72 and 60 pin converters"?
"72 to 60 pin converters" Those two games were very rushed in production and Nintendo must have had an excess of famicom copys of the games. What they did was they simply took the famicom cart, put it in a 72 to 60 pin converter(allows you to play famicom games on an NES), and stuffed it all into an NES cartridge casing. This means that if you have a copy of Gyromite or Stack Up you can play famicom games! This also explains why the games title screens are different from the name on the cart.[QUOTE="TheRaiderNation"]
Anyone know what the opening song is and what game it is from?
NodakJo2010
Super Metroid Theme
Thank you so much, can't believe I forgot it was from that game. One of the best intro them songs to date
heh it was alright though the quality of his video have been degrading for a long time now. Last one i truly enjoyed is the Castlevania retrospective he's done. Episode 100 was okay but i get tired of seeing these other character introduced in many of his reviews he doesn't seem to put much heart into AVGN compared to before. (32x still being one of my favorite review he's done, and winter game)
i'd rather watch the irate

You have bad taste. Every single video game reviewer on the Internet is better than the Irate Gamer... Well, every one of them except this guy, and even he has that "That's so indescribably horrible that it's actually sort of awesome" thing going for him.

I'd rather watch Irate Gamer, too. Neither Irate Gamer nor AVGN is about informative reviews, so any argument about that is pointless. The reviews are for entertainment only. And I'd much rather watch the Irate Gamer's show because he's funnier. He's got better jokes, running gags, and entertaining recurring characters. I enjoy AVGN too, but poop and fart jokes can only go so far for me.
However the wait time between the Irate Gamer's new videos are excruciatingly long.
