Bad Company 2 Demo Thread (PS3 demo starts today)

2/4/10-The PS3 demo starts today!
1/28/10- The 360 Demo is out now, and the PC beta starts today!

Gametrailers has an exclusive trailer for the singleplayer campaign of Bad Company 2. Multiplayer is the main draw for me, but the campaign looks pretty solid.

According to GAF and the twitter feed of the lead game designer on Bad Company 2, the demo will be multiplayer only, and will be on the Port Valdez map. This is the snow map:

It looks awesome. There should be snowmobiles and helicopters in the demo. I can't wait to check those out.:D I think PS3 owners will have to wait till next week for the demo, but there is a chance it will be a part of today's PSN update.

Is it just me or the single player graphics are really really ordinary?

I cant wait to try out the snow map though. rag, have you read about their new 4 Squad deathmatch variant? It's 4 squads of four fighting against each other with only one Tank in the middle of the map.... sounds awesome! Should encourage a lot of teamwork. :D

I'm a big fan of the Battlefield franchise. I preordered my copy today. I still play and enjoy the first. Hopefully my skills will carry over to this one. :P

Whoa, you bought MAG? I need a pricedrop before I grab it, or maybe I should sell the craptastic MW2 that I never play anymore. Wasting money at its finest. BF2 demo is Euro next week and NA the week after that apparently but I'm sure you can grab it next week if you want to play bad enough.

I want MAG but even more than the money, my biggest issue is time. I think this is the first time in history we won't have the notorious game drought that usually begins right now. I'm knee deep in Dragons Age, I would like to try WKC online, than March hits and I don't have to tell you about that. But I am definitely buying BF2 so that leaves me with a month and half to play MAG, not counting the other games I mentioned...I don't see it happening. Than again, I am super weak.

Im buying it today. :P Trading in RE5, which I realized today I havent played since it came out. It kills me to trade it in (havent traded in anything since the first Socom like 7 years ago, but i will do anything for MAG.

I do get what you mean about time though. With MAG, Heavy Rain and GOW3 coming out in a month and a half, I simply wont have time to play anything else.

EDIT: Well the RE5 trade is not gonna happen. They are giving me $3 for it. :lol: Oh well, MAG will have to wait. Sorry for hijacking your thread rag. :P

I played the 1st beta on ps3, it was pretty solid. Only 1 prob: Tanks are really overpowered. They should at leastlimit it to 1 tank, or if 2 tanks, increase the respawn time if the tanks are destroyed.

This new map is fantastic! I love this game so very much.

It is so great to be able to play this again. I was having some withdrawals after the beta ended. The Port Valdez map is a pretty different one from what was in the beta. It is a lot more narrow, and there is a lot of cover, so the battles are pretty up close and personal. I love that the Engineer tools overheat, that is a great way to balance out the tanks.(I was wrong earlier F1, I don't think they made the tanks weaker, as much as they just balanced the Engineer.:)) They've also made adjustments to make the hand grenades and rifle grenades a little more effective, which is good, they were too weak in the beta. The Medic cIass is better than ever now too because there isn't as long of a recharge for your defibrillator paddles, so you can keep your squad alive. Overall, this is really shaping up to be my multiplayer game of the year easily. I love it.

Ugh, I knew it. How lame to be locked at such a low level. Especially considering how hard it was just to get to LV.40 in the beta,and even unlocking stuff as well. Weak.

Once again I'm curious to what level this demo is locked at because I just saw a new video with dude who made it to LV.5. Hmmm..

*EDiT* N/M. It was PC Beta footage. Argh.

The gameplay videos looks great (who doesn't love vehicles and destructible buildings?) so I'm looking forward to trying the demo when it hits PSN next week.

I tried to get some games going with you yesterday rragnarr. Some of my skills carried over from the first.

My only issue is the sensitivity when aiming down sight. It's way to sensitive and I can't edit the "zoom sensitivity." Very disappointing. It throws my whole game off.

Same here!!! The old -=SPU=- squad from BF1942 are going to be back at it!!!

I tried to get some games going with you yesterday rragnarr. Some of my skills carried over from the first.

My only issue is the sensitivity when aiming down sight. It's way to sensitive and I can't edit the "zoom sensitivity." Very disappointing. It throws my whole game off.

The PS3 demo starts today! I'm really eager to get my old squad back together. We've been on a mad knifing spree at my house with the 360 demo. Between my roommate and I we've racked up somewhere around 170 knife kills. I got 15 in one round.:D

I've been playing a crap load of MAG and surprisingly, its hard to adjust to BC2. It just feels soooo slow and small scale but the vehicles are a nice change of pace. I like the guns but I feel its slower than KZ2, the difference being there is no recoil and people take less bullets so it feels easier. I dont know, I was playing and no one was going for the objectives, I was a one man army capturing all the bases while everyone else had their own Enemy of the Gates battles. The sound is phenomenal though, I just wish my weapons didn't sound like they were in a cave. F1Lengend

You've been playing MAG! wha!!! Dude i played for 12 hours straight yesterday and didnt see you on. (yes, i am addicted to MAG, sue me. :P ) I was looking forward to BC2, but MAG has ruined it for me. BC2 seems so ...... small scale, like you said, in comparison.
