Bad Habits While Gaming.

I just felt like making this thread because I thought it'd be interesting to see what everyone does while they play a game.

My bad habit is waiting to go to the bathroom until I hit some checkpoint or pause in a story. It doesn't happen frequently, but when it does it results in truly awful things happening to my bathroom. :cry:

I'm going to have to go with either throwing my controller or hitting my brother violently in the shoulder.

My friend is the worst, we were playing Madden (which we'd never played before) and I beat him and he kicked his PS2 and made an indentation in the wall

Yelling, I yell a lot when I play games. Sometimes giberish, sometimes swear words.

I dont throw controllers or break stuff, but have been known to get quite vocal

I try to surpress my anger, while making a 'grrr...!' sound.

If I cannot surpress, I slam (not throwing, but putting something down really hard) my controller or my handheld on the floor, and either punch my floor or stomp the floor. Then, run to the nearest wall and press my face to it, then shout 'Arghhh'. Then, I go back to continue playing like nothing ever happened.

weeing in the sink in my room rather than in the toilet downstairs.

i've cut this particular habit out and gone cold turkey recently though

Getting really close to the screen to the point at which my mum says: "You cant get into the game!".

Whne peopel try and talk to me whilst I'm gaming I get irritable then I die and I have massive go at them for making me die.

when I used to play a really frustrating level I'd often play till gone midnight and when I eventually beat it/gave up in frustration I'd findmyself too hyper to sleep so these days I try to make sure I don't play any later than 11 maybe something casual like a little bit of spiderman 2 or godfather but nothing too intense.

aside from lots of cursing at the screen thats about it.

I got quite a list:

I chew the side of my right hand without even knowing i'm doing it.

I reload my gun as i'm going round a corner, instead of before.

If it's a female protagonist I keep killing them off (I don't know why I do that. I find if it's a male protagonist i'm always doing my best not to die, but with some kind of sassy female character it's always satisfying to see them fail. Maybe it's because they are normally so full of themselves. Where Male characters tend to be tongue in cheek or more righteous. Damn should make a thread about this).

I flick my nails, making a loud "Clack!" sound, every known and then.

In survival horror games I conserve ammo so much that I end up completing the game with two or three weapons that I never fired a shot from (This happend worse on Silent Hill 4, which I completed using only a hatchet).

I have got to have a beer beside me if i'm playing anything online (I once drunk so much during a long raid that I was going through the hangover while still playing).

Hmmmm that's all I am going to admit to. I'm not saying nothing about how I have sometimes found my thumb reaching for my mouth if i'm stressed and playing alone.

Well along with my other bad habits . . . smoking ( cigarettes not pot ) drinking beer, ( by the way drinking and gaming don't mix )

Leaving the gaming in progress to have that almighty smoke ir to answer the phone are my two biggies I guess. I have learned to turn off the phone, but I still need to have that butt when I need to have it regardless where I am in the game, I just pause and go . . . and if I am on-line, well I hide my avatar as best as I can and I go for that butt. Some times it is where I have left it, and other times I have been smacked around the nap a bit . . . but as strange as it may seem . . . I am willing to pay that price. Talk about an awe-full addiction. :o(

I eat/drink without realizing it. My worst enemy could just buy a van of Cheetos and Mountain Dew and spend sometimes feeding me and I would definitely be a goner. Also have to remove all food/drink in the path between the computer and the bathroom.

Basic heatlh precaution! :P

I mostly just yell, swear, and make just a really loud scene.

I also tend to crank my music up really loud and it pisses my parents off.

I drink and chew at the same time...

A few hours of that..... I am in the crapper for 20 min....

Getting pissed off and buying another game of the same genre that I hope will be better.

I swear a lot. I've also broken a few controllers over the years. I remember one time I was playing 1942 for the NES, after playing for over two hours, I got down to level 6(6th to last level) and died. I got mad and slammed my fist on top of the NES and the game reset. I was so mad I chucked the controller out the window.

I would say for me some form of perfectionism. Ex: In Halo I play Legendary and I keep every marine alive and well no one can really play co-op with me cause its always revert to last checkpoint cause I am so perfectionist that way or in an RTS game, I make the 'perfect' bases that are way over the top to the point where if something doesnt work I destroy and build the building again just to make it work.

I used to do this, I used to get so mad (Because I am a completionist) and frustrated I would bite my controllers and afterwards my 64 controllers would have scratch marks all over them. I'm good now no bad habits, if I get mad I just leave the game for awhile then come back later.

I get really annoyed when someone especially my parents disturbs me by asking things while i'm playing and having fun.lordlors

I break my controllers...I broke 2 of my ps3 controllers, my only ones, and currently have been gameless for over a month....

Also, swearing, I sometimes do it so loud I think my parents can hear it, they don't do anything but I still find it embarassing...

When I play games on my PC, I usually get right into them after work, meaning that I don't get out of that chair for more than 12 hours sometimes.

Good thread topic.

Mine would have to be:

-Throwing my controller

-Tearing out my hair

-Cursing

-Getting less sleep

-Shooting up my school in real life because GTA made me do it.

2 My two toddler nieces walking front of my tv while playing tomb raider or Kameo

3 playing some games all night and not getting enough sleep

Wow ok mine are....

1. (Online gaming mostly Gears of War) Not going to the bathrooom when I need to. I'm always like ok I'll go right after this match and then start the next match and be like ok after this match.

2. Not eating even if I'm kind of hungry, during online gaming only because there is no pause.

3. I've broken several controllers.

4. Swearing A LOT.

5. Frustration leading to anger that leads to me taking it out on innocent bystanders ie. yelling at people or maybe just punching my brother in the face as he walks by.
