Rocksteady Games' Batman: Arkham Knight will not be with us this October after all, the developer has revealed, but instead will make its debut on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2015.

That's obviously a disappointment, but the developer is hoping to soothe our frustrations by telling us more about the Batmobile.

Eurogamer's sister site USgamer went hands-on with Batman: Arkham Knight ahead of E3 and reports that the Batmobile comes across as a "heavily armoured and heavily armed war wagon that players can take into a huge number of exterior spaces in the game's massive, free-roaming rendition of Gotham City".

"Convert the machine into battle mode and it reveals a massive gatling gun that, once fully charged, can fire devastating explosive blasts capable of shredding the armour on enemy machines," USG editor-in-chief Jeremy Parish explains.

"Rocksteady hasn't lost sight of Batman's essence, though. While the Batmobile could theoretically pulp the hired muscle working for the reinvigorated Scarecrow and his deadly ally the Arkham Knight, the developers have taken special care to ensure that won't happen.

"The bad guys appear to have segregated themselves neatly into groups of weak, fleshy types on foot and heavily armoured drones, and when Batman enters into combat he arms himself appropriately: high-impact armaments for mechanical foes, stun rounds for humans.

"And should you contemplate resorting to mundane vehicular manslaughter, be aware that Rocksteady is a step ahead of you there, too. When enemies approach the Batmobile on foot, they'll be flung away by the ring of tasers that line the vehicle's perimeter. All the bases are covered. Batman may be driving around with a minigun on the roof, but he's still a peacenik at heart."

As previously reported, the Batmobile can be summoned at the press of a button, or Batman can head back to it to take control or he can operate it via remote. "In short, the Batmobile is meant to function as an extension of Batman himself, and generally speaking it works."

USG also caught sight of the eponymous Arkham Knight himself, the game's chief bad guy, and reports that he resembles "a lithe, tactically armoured mirror image of Batman himself" but is "more like the commander of a private militia". Good news, though - he's not above "spouting hoary dialogue about revenge and wanting to be the one to personally humble Batman".

It's a bigger game, then, with new priorities, but "Rocksteady hasn't lost sight of the spirit of Batman, which the first two games captured so effectively... You're still the Dark Knight and the World's Greatest Detective." That means more fluid third-person combat - with new elements, of course - and environmental puzzles to solve.

For more on how Arkham Knight is shaping up, read USgamer's full Batman: Arkham Knight hands-on preview.

I'm very disappointed to hear the news, but I'm not surprised either.

There was a rumor happening, awhile back, that the game was only at 40% and it now looks like that rumor is true due to this announcement. However, I'm happy for this delay. Rocksteady Studios is a studio that I trust, since both Asylum and City are excellent Batman games in their own right (Origins, by the way, sucks, despite the good ideas it had). So it looks like the only game I'm excited about to play this year is Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil edition.

Arkham Knight was ALL that was left for 2014 ( besides Destiny ) .

2014 is going to be the worst year of gaming history as I see it .

but 2015 is going to be one of the best .

One more thing I forgot to mention.

With releases like Destiny and Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare happening this year, Rocksteady Studios probably didn't want to get crushed by those releases. They won't admit that though, so while their reasoning for polishing the game is certainly legit, that's not the only reason why AK was delayed to 2015.

Just saying.

Hmm, so they spent 7 years on it if i recall corret, and now they want to spend another year on it.

Riiiiiight Rocksteady..... my guess is that its either to avoid some major game titles or to add multiplayer.

Not a big deal. It feels like Arkham Origins just came out. I won't feel like playing another one of these games for a couple years anyways.

Thats the only legit reason i can see for them delaying a game they worked so long on, or they could just be lazy bums who need at least 10 years on each game.

I'm ok waiting. The last Batman game was "ok" but it wasn't nearly as good as the two previous ones. We don't need a game EVERY single year. Less is more!

I don't mind waiting, I have so many games to play plus plenty that I want to play coming out as well. Also some of those games coming out, such as Destiny, will consume much of my gaming time as it is.

This a very good thing. The LAST thing we need is for Knight to turn out like Origins, an uninspired glitch-riddled mess. Rocksteady should take their ever loving time, and I think that we as gamers really need to stop clamoring for all these AAA titles during the holiday season. It's why so many games come out unfinished and why so many series have annual releases. We want too much...

They announce it just a few months ago just to delay it. It's bs, wait with the game if you need more time. IT's been 3 years since Arkham. They should have freaking known this...

This a sequel to the 2011's game of Batman: Arkham City

*SPOILERS* The Joker dies in the end of Arkham City. It is rumored he might be in this Arkham Knight game, but Rocksteady has said that he is permanently dead in their game and won't be making a return.

They may be lieing though, as with The Last of Us, the developers when asked, lied about the player being able to take control of Ellie just to keep it a surprise when the game launch.

I honestly doubt they would want multiplayer in this. So far, Asylum and City didn't need multiplayer at all. The only reasons why Origins had it was because WBM was forced to incorporate it to sell money on it and that failed on them, because the multiplayer wasn't even that decent to begin with.

On top of that, I also doubt they are "lazy bums". Do you realize the kind of lineup Rocksteady would have to face this fall? Destiny, Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare, LOTR: Shadow Of Mordor, AC Unity, etc...these games are going to pretty much overshadow Arkham Knight, no matter how big of a franchise it's going to be. That's another legitimate reason for the delay. It's entirely possible they want to make this the grand-daddy of them all without having to worry about other games hogging the spotlight.

Probably for the best since a Batman game just came out last year. I think it's alright to give Rocksteady all the time they need to make the game that they want and not to rush it.

Well in the world of Entertainment you shouldn't wait untill something needs to be included before you include it..... thats the 1st step to an impending disaster.

Rocksteady never had that attitude towards The Batmobile.......

Also even though theyre might not be multiplayer like Predator Online..... There might still be some kind of Online Compenent.... Perhaps they'l be some type of Ghost type thing.

I'd have to assume it's a sequel. It seems Arkham Knight is the thing that Azareal was talking about in City. Also, if it is a sequel, the Joker will not be in it, due to the ending of City and I'm pretty sure that Mark Hammil went on record saying that the Joker voice damages his vocal cords too much so he will not be doing it anymore.

They've officially confirmed it, multiple times I might add, that they aren't adding in multiplayer at all. To include multiplayer in it is to ruin the game and what Rocksteady has been trying to accomplish since day one.

Here's a question; have you played it or even watched footage of what multiplayer looked liked on Batman Arkham Origins? I've watched plenty of footage and you can tell, right off the bat, that it was badly executed. I also heard, from a lot of folks, that was heavily unbalanced and wasn't a whole of fun either.

Metamania Logic ----> Multiplayer = Bad.

Anyway That just means it needs to be polished, not dropped entirely.... The Bat Mobile can have the same problems. Badly Executed, Not Needed, Not Much Fun.....

Also fun is subjective so thats hardly a critisism.

Did I ever say I wanted people to agree with me? No I didn't. So don't play that game and try twisting everything around to suit your own agenda.

And not all multiplayer is bad. Only in certain cases can it ruin the game, such as Origins. And second, don't judge until you've played the game.

I DID PLAY THE GAME !

I may be twisting your words but you just flatout made a false assumption in Daylight ! You are the very definition of Hypocrisy !

Anyway back to Origins. I noticed you said only in certain cases can "it" ruin the game....... Obviously execution quality doesn't matter to you or you would have stated that in your wording otherwise.....

I'm well aware thats not what you specifically said but I'm not a moron....... You Are Bias againsed Mulitplayer........ in Batman.
