There is a Silent Hill: Origins game that is a prequel to the first game. It explains a little bit more about Alessa, but no Silent Hill game ever gives concrete answers and this one is no different.

Yeah I knew about that Origins but that sucked big balls. And yeah it did go into Alessa a little bit but nothing significant. 

I guess they never will.
