BLOODLINES!
The music is amazing, I like the colors in the game, very vibrant and appealing, you get to attack things at angles, and it plays faster. Then when you get to the other levels, it just gets nuts with the gameplay.
I like all of them, with the exception of the SFC Akumajou Dracula (which is actually a remake of the original Akumajou Dracula) due to its awful slow-pacing and poor controls that make it a pain to play.
In my opinion Rondo of Blood it's the best, as I feel it has more merits. It was truly a groundbreaking game for it's time (1993), and it was very much the game that pretty much convinced Konami alongisde the rest of the Japanese gaming companies (with the obvious exception of Nintendo it seems) that the CD-ROM media format had to become the standard in the next-generation of gaming. Taking into account that the PC-Engine was the most technologically relegated system, what Konami accomplished with Rondo of Blood was truly remarkable, and all thanks to the CD-ROM data storage capacity.
Also, in my opinion Vampire Killer (AKA Blood Lines) has better gameplay than Rondo of Blood, but it just didn't felt as groundbreaking. I was only able to play Rondo of Blood until I bought it online back in 1997, and it still felt stunning for that time.
How do you compare the X68000 game, GS dont seem to fond on it though.Nexus-Replicant
Don't pay attention to them. It is a beautiful game and an excellent remake. The new Playstation re-edit was terrible (they transformed Simon into a transvestite), but the original X68000 version alone is worth getting the game.
