I've actually moved backwards...Â
When the features first started coming out, I was happy they were there and figured there wasn't any harm in them. However, when I started seeing companies use venues like E3 to tout non-gaming features, they became like the drunk uncle that shows up at Thanksgiving, gets hammered, then talks a bunch of shlt before projectile vomiting and passing out. It got lame REAL FAST.
The honeymoon ended once I realized that there was a tradeoff -- money and time spent on apps, movie players, and music streamers became money not spent on games, and friends I am shonuff here to tell you that I would wipe my Irish ass with all of those things in favor of games. So I stopped using them. And you know, I don't miss them at all. I have an iPod and a computer in the same room for music. I have a tablet for streaming Netflix, and my television has the ability built in as well. And most of the other apps sucked balls anyway. I DO use the PS3 for movies, but that's because I haven't gotten around to (or needed) buying a standalone blu-ray player.Â
So yeah, my game consoles are just kind of for games these days. Which is fine by me.Â
