What would you consider to be the top 10 3rd person multiplayer games? They tend to be shooters, but you can list other genres. Looking for games that have LAN or split-screen multiplayer.

3rd person multiplayer shooter games

No Vanquish? (multiplayer. . got it)

And. . So why is The Last of Us on the list? I know it has multiplayer but it's not that great, putting it ahead of Gears for story mode I'd understand, but for multiplayer? . . Not even close, GOW has much better multiplayer. I think The Last of Us fanbois are going insane. Uncharted would be a better choice.

Resi: Revelations 2 Raid mode is worth a mention. It had multiplayer and it's pretty good.

I think many will also be annoyed of the lack of GTAV Online.

@RSM-HQ: I haven't played many shooter games and with Resident Evil only did Code Veronica. If you know: how would the multiplayer of RE5 and 6 compare to that of Revelations 2 in terms of how good it is?

@jakes007: It would be a lot of explaining to discuss Revelation series, 5, and 6. As they have completely different mechanics from each other.

But to break it down 5 and 6 are arguably better Single-Player games in many rights but for the multiplayer modes the mechanics in Revelations are just more accessible. And the main series has something called Mercenary mode, which while fun doesn't really compare with Revelations Raid mode.

If you're not informed on the series that's fine, best not rate games you've never played. But if you like multiplayer and stuff like Gears of War Horde mode? You should really check out the Revelation series sometime.

@RSM-HQ: Which one of the 3 games would you recommend to someone who is looking for a good multiplayer RE, but with good single player as well?

@jakes007: Resident Evil 6. But disable QTEs as soon as you can. You get a perk tree early on that let's you cut out the QTE sections almost entirely. It's pretty essential to enjoy the game.

The reason I overlook Resident Evil 5 is because you can't move and shoot. This worked for Resident Evil 4 (one, if not the best game in the series), but for Resi5, due to its coop focus and faster enemies is noticeably a miss-balance.

Revelation series still have ok Single-Player experiences. But the developers put a lot more work into Raid mode. It's also worth noting Rev series have a much smaller budget and it shows. They both look like early 360 games.

Resident Evil 6 is just a straight up good coop game, but fails in a lot of its pacing, Mercenary mode isn't as fun as Raid but is pretty close.

For multiplayer it's either 6 or Revelations 2. Revelations 1 is getting a remaster soon, but it doesn't really do anything better than Rev2.

Max Payne 3 multiplayer should be on that list too. IMHO its the best third person shooter multiplayer out there. Most satisfying run and gun game I have ever player. Pure action. If you don't believe me check my video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkGvmaz_MGk , so far best score I was able to make.

Enjoying Star Wars Battlefront 2 quite a bit tbh. So that could be on the list as a new and improved version, not the mess we had at launch.
