PS2 and GC. Usually when you do console combinations, you want the most opposite ones so you can get the greatest amount of games. That would leave PS2/GC and Xbox/GC. The PS2 just owns though. :P
I have PS2/GC, and I'm having a blast with that combination... That way you can get the GC exclusives and multiplats for the Gamecube (since they tend to look better and whatnot), but get all the killer PS2 exclusives as well.
There are a few things the combination is missing that the Xbox provided, though (mainly FPS games and WRPGs).
The best combination of systems in any given generation would be all available systems.
All have advantages and disadvantages, but all have exclusive games worth playing.
To answer the topic, I currently still own PS2GCXbox, and I would even link in the Dreamcast in there to create the DCPS2GCXbox combination. DC started it off, and I have all 4.

That's a very true point, but I think the OP intended to ask about the best combination of two consoles...
the best ultimate combination is dc gc xbox and ps2 lol that way you get way more and any oppertunity to get any game out that gen , same goes for the 7th gen lol,
