Best and Worst Buy

What's the best money you spent on a video game? And what's the worst money you've spent on a video game? (This includes PC games)

My best is Warcraft 3. I've played that game so much, and I love DOTa. Best $30 I've ever spent.

My worst is World of Warcraft. I played it a lot, but it was more frustration and torture than it was fun (The fun did come, but it was a long distance between the joys in that game.) Worst $200+ I ever spent.

Best: Call of Duty 4.

Worst: Dead or Alive 4

Best= Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. I play Street Fighter III: Third Strike every day. It never gets old.

Worst= Devil May Cry 2

Back before eBay implemented its spellcheck system I managed to pick up a Sega Saturn with 6 games, 3 controllers, and a memory cartridge for $25 because the seller listed it as a "Sega Satrn". That's probably the single best deal I ever got off of eBay.

Worst money spent was Beyond the Beyond for the Playstation. I was so ultra desperate for an RPG that I paid $20 for this turd. Easily one of the worst games I've ever played, and even at just $20 I'm hard pressed to think of a worse buy. I could have gotten more use out of that $20 by using it as toilet paper.

I do not know that I can refer to any one title as my most valuable game, but I will call out the genre of racing sims with career modes. Gran Turismo, PGR, Forza 2...all have allowed me to play and re-play a ton of careers exploring each and every car and taking the tinkering down to the nanometer if I so desire. PGR three here is more so thrown in due to the immense numbers of hours I have logged in online play on both PGR3 and PGR4.

I'd also have to add Chromehounds, since the guys in my squad, who were the core members of my XBL friends list, played for about 4 months straight, almost every day,before we finally moved on to something else.

I then have to add Madden NFL 2001 on the PS2, which was the best balanced game of Madden I've ever played with respect to AI, and led me to complete 13 seasons in career mode before I finally retired.

As far as a system goes, my best money spent to date has been on my Xbox 360. The integration of a total systems architecture, including GUI, hardware, game titles, and development requirements that allow robust single-player value, and then double it by providing equal multi-player value, has been the bee's knees.

my best is final fantasy 7 i dont know how many times i beat that game, and im still playing it today. this game had tons of extras in it man, talk about replay value.

The worst is probaly........When i traded 5 games including metal gear 3 when it first came out for a lousyn $20 game that was syphon filter omega strain. i was pissed.

Worst buy: FFXI, never able to play, plainly shafted of $80 cad about 4 year ago. Never going to trust this lousy company again. (I activate with an old computer, then later I try to re-activate with a new computer, only to be told it wasn't existing...technically, they delete everything in 3 months, so I buy for $80 cad, I install it, enter the character creation screen, and was never able to get beyond on my old computer...and when I have a new computer later on, since it was 3 months or more since...my CD code was used and I never was able to even play it) Square thugs. :(

Best: Halo 3 (I love playing MP :P)

Worst: Guitar Hero 2

I'd say it was the worst of the series. I'm not sure how they did it, but they took all the annoying elements from the previous games and managed to amplify them to thier limit.

Best buy:Call Of Duty 4

Worst buy:Clive Barker's Jericho

Best- Probably Final Fantasy 7 (had no idea what Final Fantasy was...)

Worst- Superman N64, Sonic & The Secret Rings Wii

Best- Halo 2, I played that game online to death with my friends. Halo3 was good, but for some reason I just liked Halo 2 online better, probably because I had never played such a good online game.

Worst- Prey, played the demo and liked it, but bought it and got sick of it after the first level, so I never played it again. Waste of $60

Worst has to be: Godzilla Save the Earth (dont ask)

My best would have to be my PS2 slim and MGS 3 subsistence. Before that I didn't play any games for about 2 years, which was when my first PS2 broke.

My worst was buying Fade to Black for the playstation. I couldn't play more than 20 minutes before I put it up for good.

I did this 3 or 4 years ago. Now ebay has all these new tools in place to prevent listings from getting misplaced like that now. The good ole' days of finding deals like that on ebay are quite gone.

Best: This was during the PS era before i started reading reviews regularly. A local electronics store had a sale on a ps game. They filled an entire shelf with just that game. That game was grandia. It's the second best game i have ever played.

Worst: Unlimited Saga....I don't know what i was thinking.

For recent games id say Best:Orange Box (whats not to love?)

Worst:Hellgate London (no matter how hard i try i cant play it like i did d2) over 2000 hours into d2 and couldnt put 100 into this :/..

Best would probably be WoW simply because of the played time / money spent ratio.

Worst would be Assassin'c Creed. Cant get into it. Hate the game. $60 bucks wasted.

Best= Diablo Battlechest ed. not because I love the game or anything but that since it didnt ring up at the cash register I got it for free.:P

Worst=Nexus the Jupiter Incident. Buggy sp, no support from the creators and the onlinemp stopped workingand there was no real way to fix it.

I'm sure it is a good game, and I kow a lot of people loved it, but the battle system bored me so much that I took it out of my PS after the first 20 minutes and have no intentions of trying again.

I have loved all of the FF games since the PS1, but it just doesn't do it for me.
