Best and worst gaming community?

What game in your opinion has the worst community? And I know that everyone who plays these games are not all like that.

I would say Gears of War 2. From my experience they seem to be a lot more violent individuals.

In a close second CoD 4, obviously screaming 14 year old kids gets old fast.

I love both these game but whenever I play I just take the mic out.

On the other hand I would say TF 2 has a very good community.

Your thoughts?

Any game with strong Co-Op where you have to work as a team usually has a good community. L4D is great IMO.

I have to interfere with you in this one, It aren't 14y olds but 10-12y olds, btw I'm 14y old and I hate all those freaking babies online who keep trash talking the whole game!!!

Well, for best I don't know, but for worst, Warcraft 3 BY FAR. =/ 99% of the community consists of mindless baboons who basically type f-bombs, tell people to suck them, make dumb sex jokes, get mad at you for making a little slipup like the game's serious and cheat whenever possible. Battle.net's pretty much a hellhole from what I've seen anyways, but the Diablo II crowd's not so idiotic from the games I played...=/

On-topic I think the Resistance 2 community is quite good for the Co-op portion of the game. Also Frontlines: fuel of war and Ghost Recon: AW2, on the Xbox360, both had great communities.

EDIT: Also i should mention that World in Conflict for the PC has one of the worst communities i have came across to date.. Players are always looking out for themselves (in a team game), lots of trash talking and voting to kick people just for the fun of it.

best that i've played with is Left 4 dead most people know what they're doing, can effictvily communicate with each other (instead of yelling at each other) and when they go idle, if they're annoying, or if they just suck you can kick them

The best communities are centerd around Valve games. The CS community although sometime seen as elitist is not bad when you actually play the game. TF2 is full of nice people, who know what theyre doing, L4D aside for some bad apples is filled with surprisingly competent people. The wrost communities are those of many console shooters especially but not esclusivle on 360. The fact that every 360 player has a mic is the reason for the horrid impression people have of the community. On PC the worst community without question is the filth and elitist crappery of DotA players. The DotA community is simply a cesspool a stupidity and unwaranted elitism.

Then finnaly an answer to this topic TF2 is the best in my opinion CoD games the worst have a nice night. (for me it is I don't know where you live so...)

The more juvenileCoD4 community is annoying. Very annoying. But the WoW community just beats out the competition IMO.

Halo has the worst community. All the kids online have ruined that game if not the entire series.

Gears of War 2 players take things way too seriously.

Left 4 Dead players are fine, but there's always that one guy who complains about his team.

Halo is the worst for me. I love the MP, but there are just too many immature kids that keep cursing and screaming and just annoying the living hell out of me.

As for the best...I've had some good teams in L4D that handled pretty well.

Even with Runescape's heavily censored public and private chat, the community still finds its ways to be a real pain in the ass. Which is why I stopped playing it when I turned 11 or 12 and reached level 40-something. The community sucked majorly, and it was also a real bore to have to avoid everyone simply because you knew they had nothing of importance to say.

C&C Renegade: Mods (well most of them) are VERY abusive. The normal players aren't exactly the brightest lightbulb in the bin either. You kill them, they go "**** YOU, HACKER!!!" -_-

Halo: Do I REALLY need to explain this? It's like the angry german kids in real-time!

Best communities:

Team Fortress 2: You'll find some good players most of the time.

Doom: Although it's dead, I still play on Skulltag and most of the players are alright compared to others.

For the best community, I would have to say World of Warcraft. For the worst community, I would have to say probably Call of Duty 4.

The worst is usually the mainstream console shooters like Halo 3. I myself have not had too much of problem with the CoD duty series but WaW was far worse compared to CoD4 from my experiences, then again I'm on the PS3. The absolute worst community I've seen is probably the Warcraft3 DOTA community. Biggest bunch of elitist snob **** who while boot you for just about every possible reason.

As for the best I would have to say Socom Confrontation and the Phantasy Online private server 'schthack'. With Confrontation everybody was friendly and worked together as a team. You'd get the occasional rotten apple but for the most part it was good. PSO has absolutely the nicest people I've ever met online. Everybody was super friendly and would go out of their way to help others.

It's so weird how everyone says this. Do you guys actually play Halo anymore or do you just take fanboy's word for it? Or am I just one of the lucky people who almost never encounter the idiots? I rarely encounter kids or the occasional stupid adult, even in Social Slayer (which is said where most of these guys lurk.)

Here are my experiences with communities.

Pokemon Competitive Battling: There are a lot of nice people there, actually. I am not talking about your avergae kid who plays one, I am talking about the "hardcore players."

Earthbound/Mother: These people are the most devoted I have ever seen. They are pretty nice as well, and are obsessed with fan art.

As for communites most other people here would know about, I found the people who play Halo to be obnoxious. They rub it in your face when you lose and think they are so cool because they are good at the game.

Best community? I would have to say the Street Fighter community. As I play SFIV a lot online, I receive a lot of good messages from people about my skill with Ryu and we always say to each other Good Games, or GGs for short. It's a positive atmosphere.

Worst community? Hands down, the Halo community. Every time I come out, there's always a lot of screaming or hollering from those people and some of the voices sound like kids on acid or something with these baby like voices that don't make sense. Then there are other players who talk a lot of stupid trash before and after the multiplayer session is over. It's so stupid! I'm glad that I have the mike turned off and only allow the party that I'm playing the game to hear me and not the other idiots.

The best, strongest community that I have seen is not from an online shooter, but from an old, SNES rpg known as Earthbound. They do not tolerate immaturity and stupidity. There is a constant stream of fanart, increadible fan renditions of music, and all kinds of funfests, competitions, and events throughout the year. But as far as your guys' shooters go, I'd have to say Team Fortress 2. Even starmen.net(the Earthbound community site) has a very strong TF2 following.

I haven't really found a good console "community". I pretty much mute all games online, and don't use a headset. Nothing worse than a 13 year old who want's every other word to be a curse word. This coming from someone who cusses like a sailor.btaylor2404

Yes indeed most people of my age are very annoying, though if you look some years back you got the 12y olds who are just more annoying.

Yeah a lot of people are saying Halo as well. I have not played Halo in months due to that. So I guess it hasn't changed.

The Counter-Strike:Source 6 year olds.When they're admins they're at their worst.

The TF2 community is the best, you can call in Soldier airstrikes if needed.Seriously, the other players are cool guys.

Worst: World of Warcraft

Best: MarioKart, Smash bros. Why? Because theres no communication so no chance to be a jerk ;)

Almost the entire communty of newer-gen gamers.

Im talking about the kids who grew up on PS2 and original Xbox.

The older gen gamers, the one's who still remember goin to arcades and playin Duck Hunt on our NES' are the best kind, IMO.

These kids nowadays take everything for granted.

In light of the current Blizzzrd vs. Valve DOTA events, I just wanted to remind everybody of how terrible this community really is, and if Valve follows through with their promise of rewarding players who don't act like complete jerks, then I'm all for it!
