best cutscene/moment in games this generation

what is the best cutscene/ moment(by moment i mean pre scripted bits that happen in gameply sorta like how cod is)

for me its the pasrt of FFXIII where hope confronts snow about his mother. the tension between them is so extreme and i had heavy goosebumps the entire scene. for those that havent played the game and dont wanna get it heres a link to the scene

plus this scene is helped by how surprisingly good the dub was

i just love how it goes from a upbeat kinda funney scene to a very dramatic and dark bit in an intant

Nero and Dante's first battle in DMC4.

I also enjoyed the final fight scene in MW2.

Every scene in Mass Effect 2.

The RE5 scene when you don't time it right and Wesker twists Chris Redfield's neck. Totally shocked me. Laughed after it of course and tried it again.

I'm going to have to strongly disagree with you there. Any scene with Vanille was completely unbearable by default, and I alternated between rolling my eyes and wishing extremely violent death upon the characters for most of the first few hours of the game (I might get back to it later, if I've got nothing else to play first).

Anywho, I love the moment in The Witcher where...without spoiling anything, it's after the final battle and the game gives you a hint of a fairly important plot twist. It really makes you reconsider some of your actions during the game, and I thought that the way they never say it outright was extremely well done.

Having said that, my two favourite moments of this gen might be from Telltale Games's games - the endings of the fourth episode of Tales of Monkey Island and the final episode of The Devil's Playhouse were just...wow. :o

Mass Effect, when the Normandy is flying through the middle of the citidel, whilst ships explode around it. When you add the gravity of the context, it's utterly amazing.

the good-ending of Bioshock 1. Almost made me cry

The ending to halo reach is really wicked! Definately up there for me.

But the whole ending of RDR/ when kratos beats the crap outta hercules are not bad

I would probably go with the Ryan confrontation in Bioshock and then the battle against Sovereign in Mass Effect

DOA4 Helena's ending, I wasn't expecting anything quite that epic from a fighter in all honesty.

ME when Sovereign docks with the citadel.

I really enjoyed the ending to Twilight Princess too.

I felt like i was inside a classic spaghetti western revenge saga for the last 30 minutes or so of RDR. If its not that its the last hour or so of MGS4.

The first room in Dead Space is the one that gets me. Where you're separated by glass from the other group and the lights go out... So great. It puts you on edge and stays that way the whole game. I hadn't felt that nervous in a game since Nemesis chased you through screens in Resident Evil 3 (I was younger then, too). Come to think of it, Dead Space is probably my favorite game of this generation.

The "Would You Kindly..." playscene in Bioshock is a runner-up and deservedly so.
