Just got FF7 for 24$, and I bought 2 dreamcasts for 15$ one time. Beat that.
And this is a competition, haven't decided how to judge who wins though...
This topic is locked from further discussion.
i have a deal that is nearly impossible to beat. Went to a goodwill warehouse, where they sell nearly everything by the pound. Bought an NES and a Genesis (no cords or controllers) for like $5. and while i was there I got Thunderstrike and Gran Turismo for ps1 for $1 each. Also I had a great find at a yardsale a few weeks back. Twisted metal 1, 2, and 3, and Xmen: Mutant Academy (ps1)for a total of $5. Lets see you beat that......
Are you kdding me!? I got Persona 3 FES for $30 used! I guess this counts as a good deal: I got a PS2 for around $55, and it came with three games and everything needed to play. I also got Tales of Vesperia for around $25 new, which was a good deal to me because Tales games are usually expensive.I got Ico for $5, GTA 4 for $3, and Persona 3 FES (new) for $10.

Sealed copy of the original Tenchu for a $0.01 and a sealed copy of the sequel for $1.
About a year ago, I managed to snag a sealed copy of the Legend of Zelda OOT/Master Quest disc for $20.
Perfect copy of FFVII (complete, original case with no cracks-didn't even have shelf wear, discs were flawless) for around $40.
Does FFVII still go for a lot? I thought the value dropped a lot since it was released on PSN.Eikichi-OnizukaIt did. I haven't seen it in any local shops for more than $30 in the last year or so.
My finds:
M.U.S.H.A. for the Sega Genesis, $2 at a local shop. ($80+ value)
Radiant Silvergun (mint, complete w/ spine card) for the Sega Saturn, $117 on eBay. ($160+ value)
Dicing Knight for the WonderSwan Color, $70 from someone online. ($380+ value)
Psyvariar Complete Edition for PS2, $10 from a local shop. ($35+ value)
DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou for PS2, $10 from a local shop. ($70+ value; I turned around and sold it on eBay since I already have a copy.)
I got a free gameboy SP from my friend. A dreamcast with 2 controllers and 3 games for 5 dollars. Uncharted (never been used or opened) for 10 dollars. 3 gameboy colors; two of them had 2 games inside them for 6 dollars. Super scope with box for 2 dollars. Sega genesis for free. 2 NES's and contra for 2 dollars. Nintendo 64 for 5 dollars. I could post more of great deals I had, but I'm too lazy.
Got a Cube with 2 controllers all connections and a stack of about fifteen games including Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, and Star Wars Rogue Fighter 2 (think that's the name) for 5 bucks at a rummage sale. The games were literally a stack only a couple had cases, but they all worked.Second_Rook
Thats pretty good. My girlfrend just gave me her old one.
well, a week ago I got a 3DO Panasonic FZ-10 (the later top loading model) , necessary cables, controller and 4 games for £30
my best deal would be getting Conker's Bad Fur Day for £2 (could have been 2.50, can't remember exactly) , which is really good considering it goes for over £40 unboxed.
Two that come to mind :
1) I was talking to a co-worker about ten years ago about video games, and he mentioned that he has a copy of "Final Fantasy 3" on the SNES. He just offered to give it to me with the manual. Got it for nothing, which was a huge deal for me at the time.
2) I was staying at my mom's place a couple years ago watching the dogs while they were away. I noticed a sealed greatest hits copy of "Final Fantasy 7" sitting in a pile of CD's in their computer cabinet. When I asked about it, she told me it was my step-father's copy, and she gave it to me as he'd probably forgot he even had it.
I'm sure I have more good deals to share, but these two come to mind for me.
A traded a bunch of comics for a PS2, which the guy said would come with some random games. Dang good trade because one of the games was Final Fantasy VII for PSX, original black-label release in great condition with the case, artwork, and manual all intact. Since I don't like turn-based RPGs, I turned around and sold the sucker for $50 plus shipping within 2 days on Amazon.com then used that to get a bunch of PSX/PS2 games I'd actually play.

I don't know if I've ever gotten any good deals. :? Let me think....my brother gave me Final Fantasy Anthology, Final Fantasy Chronicles, Final Fantasy X, and Saga Frontier. He didn't actually "give" them to me but he left them at my house after he moved out.:D I also found a copy of Breath of Fire IV in my sister's room so that was "free." I "inherited" the old Gamecube, Dreamcast, N64, and SNES we used to share, though sadly the DC doesn't really work anymore. I guess I found a few rare PS1/PS2 games for good prices, like Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex for $4 and Legend of Dragoon used for $8 with everything.

It's all about knowing someone who's done with something or finding that rummage sale where they just want everything gone. I used to hate rummage sales when I was a kid but since about age 25 or so, I've become a big fan.[QUOTE="OmegaAK47"]

sometimes you just ask "how much do you want for this?" or say "Hey I'll give you $5 for all of this stuff here" Once in a while people actually know the value of the stuff they are selling..... but the bigger problem is the fact that they are usually just selling junk.
On my way home from work yesterday I saw a sign on the highway "Yard Sale like no other --->>" and I was tempted to go look, but I really just wanted to get home.

don't know about the US, but Ive seen FF7 go for between 20-30 pounds here , which translated into US dollars is 32-48 US dollars according to the current exchange rate
( £1 = 1.6 US Dollars)
may I ask which games came with it, and how much did it cost?Probably my model 1 Saturn which came with 8 games. Although it's in bad shape, so I'm working on getting a replacement soon. Perferebly one of the japanese models, those are pretty cool.

Well, I haven't seen it as much as 60$ anywhere but my local game store, and they jack up rare games prices because they know people would rather buy it there then off the net, but it seem's like 40$ (25 pound) is the norm for the game and I got it for 25$ (15 pounds) So I saved quite a bit.

a few years ago a black label version of the game would have cost closer to £30 (same for the other PS1 FF games) , but the price went down recently , probably due to the game being on PSN.[QUOTE="magnax1"][QUOTE="Darkman2007"]

I really could care less though, just want to have a physical copy of the game so I'll always be able to play it.

I have the black label versions , though incidently almost all of the US imports I have are greatest hits games, since they were cheaper to import greatest hits boxes look terrible with that green label though , why the US never went with the platinum range like Europe is beyond me.[QUOTE="magnax1"][QUOTE="Darkman2007"] a few years ago a black label version of the game would have cost closer to £30 (same for the other PS1 FF games) , but the price went down recently , probably due to the game being on PSN.Darkman2007

The only greatest hits type label that bugs me is the original Xbox silver box. Just looks so weird and sticks out compared to all the green boxes.

Rayman was complete mint condition, I hopped on the deal as soon I saw that Rayman was included. It was pretty expensive CIB, so it was an extra bonus to have it included with the system Unfortuntley the shell of the Saturn is pretty beat up, left side is popped open as well.Probably my model 1 Saturn which came with 8 games. Two consoles:
Newer heat resistant model PS1, various controllers and multitap, and about ten games, most of them were licensed extreme sports crap but it also came with a complete black label copy of MGS and Crash Bandicoot. 15$ at a church sale
PS3 80GB phat model brand new for 200$, I convinced my mom that we needed Blu Ray so we split the price fifty-fifty. Good deal for me I guess:P
Most of the "I can't believe it" deals have come from my friends though; I have a friend who picked up Ico for one dollar brand new at some discount store (gamestop price is fifty used), and another friend who got a SNES Advantage in a free basket and later sold it on Ebay for forty bucks.
Well if you count just giving stuff away, I've gotten quite a few PS2 games for free.

I've got that beat. Some guy tried to sell an original XBox to Gamestop after they stopped taking them. Gamestop told him they don't take them anymore of course, but also told him about some local mom-and-pop places that would. Nonetheless he unloaded it on me with 3 controllers and the DVD remote w/sensor and a game though I can't recall what it was, maybe a sports game I think (I traded it). Absolutley free. Everything worked great on it, too.

80 dollars..........I would actually consider this as spending a bit too much, none of the games are rare, and I personally wouldnt have paid more then 60 dollars for it (especially if the Saturn is in bad shape), you could get a deal like that for £40 or so here
sorry to tell you but you might have actually gotten ripped off as opposed gotten a good deal. (or at least I wouldnt have sold it for that)
