Best drag racing game

I have been a big drag racing fan my whole life and I have been wanting to get a drag racing game.I have heard a lot of stuff about many different games. What would be the best drag racing game for my buck. I own a PS2 and of course my computer.

He's looking for Drag Racing...not constant left turn racing :-).

Unfortunately most of the drag racing games on the consoles are pretty weak. I think there are a few NHRA games out for the PS2 but honestly they were pretty bad. Luckily they can be had for around $5....so it won't break the bank to give them a shot.

Does any body know if there will be any new nhra game coming out this year(2009)?????

Live for speed has some drag racing servers. you can't really tune the car power/weight though, so it'll depend on things like gear ratios, suspension, etc.

Isn't the DRAG RACE in NFS Underground Series and NFS Most Wanted a Drag Racing mode you're talking about? Is it different?barcodedagent

yes NFS has drag racing events..I believe underground 2, and Most Wanted...also NFS Pro Street has drag races too..I think Pro Street is more involved with it than the others...but if you want the 'real' drag cars then try out the nhra games..they can't be that bad, espescially if you like that sort of thing..I myself has never played one before..

NFS Pro Street is horrible. Most Wanted is probably the best for drag racing, but GRID is the best racing game imo... Dirt 2 isn't that bad either (plus it is DX11)jon_e_boi

Neither grid nor Dirt offer drag racing so there was no point in mentioning them.

To be honest i'd say NFS Most wanted,Forza 4 (if you can find folks to race drag) and Underground 2 are probably the 3 i can think of that do drag well.Forza moreso if you like tinkering with gearbox ratio's downforce setup and the likes.
