Best End-Game Credits

As I sat back and watched the credits roll on Batman: Arkham City I thought to myself 'these [taking into account the game's storyline and ending] are a great, fitting set of credits.'

It then made me think of the credits at the conclusion of both 'Portal' games which, again, were really well done; in-line with the game's overall tone and encouraged me to watch until the very last name rolled across my screen.

I have been lucky enough to see these fine examples and I am merely a half-notch above a 'casual gamer.'

'Imagine,' I thought to myself, 'what other amazing end-game credits there have been over the course of gaming history...'

So; what are some of them, nerds? ;)

I have seen lots of great ones, and it is something that I really appreciate (when they put effort into them).

Recently the 1st Mass Effect.

I thought the first inFAMOUS had amazing credits. It comes in right after that mind blowing finale and is done in such a mesmerizing style.

I love the credits in the original Dead Rising. Dead Risng 2 was cool as well because of the song. But the first one had a better song in my opinion, and the scene it shows in the background is awesome.

Oh, and the twist in the credits was cool in MGS4.

The above examples are insane and I bet there are even more of them out there.

Which awesome set of credits have rolled and kept you glued to the screen while simultaniously sitting back, soaking up the unrivalled sense of acomplishment you were experiencing at the time! :)

I had to think about this one for a little while because I was convinced that Portal 2 had better credits.

Though upon reflection I think that it was the final scene that set me up so much. For 100% pure credits from start to finish I suppose the original Portal takes the cake.

Not credits exactly but I liked one of the endings of Bioshock2..After bashing through the game and getting to this ending is quite sad.

Obligatory Portal and Portal 2, just because.

As a kid, Donkey Kong Country's credits sequence was cool with the music and casting call. Moreso since you're tricked into the kredits first.

The only other ones I can really remember well are Metroid Prime and Okami's credits. Both had great themes to accompany their credits, hitting all the right notes and really giving you a sense of completion- fitting ends to two fantastic titles. Also Batman AA, I did like the comic-book visual outro.

I had it on mega cd too, i could never finish it. i think the last stage i made it to was the wresting arena

The Portal games have some awesome credit sequences. Some of the best of any medium, I'd say.

Okami's the only other game who's credits really stood out to me. It was the perfect way to send off the game after that ending.

the ones i can skip.sometimes i want my unlockable or some crap and i have sit for like 20 minutes for it to end

Not surprising really, seeing how you even get a salesman that asks for your online banking details to download DLC in that game.

Another one I also liked were the Mass Effect credits. The song that played really fit well with the game.

MW2 credits are pretty epic. Let's not forget Portal eitherBlack_Knight_00

MadWorld's were great fun. Special mention also to Bayonetta and (warming to my theme) Vanquish.

Several people have mentioned Arkham City, but did anyone else find that they went on for far too long (a trend I've been noticing lately)? The names just kept coming and coming and coming.

Anything by Twisted Pixel has some of the most humorous ending credits out there. Aside from that, I still love Super Mario RPG's credits.Yagr_Zero
