The King of Fighters is by far the deepest. I also enjoy Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, World Heroes, Street Fighter, and Guilty Gear.

Well I used to love SS1/2/3 (haven't played the later iterations) when I was a kid and I was playing it in dusty, rusty arcades with a lot of cigarette smoke in them : ) ahh memories. The same is with earlier KoF.

I always liked KoF better cause of the 3 on 3 formula, and some characters are so memorable ...

But I voted for GG, cause thats the game Im playing right now on my PSP, its most advanced technical-wise, characters are wicked and its one of those games thats one of its kind.

Since they didn't list the "God of fighters" Street fighter I would have to go with KoF mainly because it is a lot deeper and less gimickey than the other two (one is weapons based and the other has a lot of control issues) but that is my two cents worth.

I really love the KoF series. I own KoF EX 2, Maximum Impact, XI, and 2006. Just picked up 2006 yesterday where it was on sale at Gamestop. The characters are awesome (in 3D and 2D) I love the fast pace, the moves, specials, stages, music, everything about it.

I'm also into Tekken, Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, Soul Calibur, etc.

He's obviously talking about 2D fighters. If you want to talk 3D fighters, Virtua Fighter is the undisputed king of depth and mechanics.

I will agree to that.
