***Best Game Ever***

After all of this years it is hard to say which game is the best one. For older gamers maybe it is harder because thay can remember a game like Super Mario!
Call of Duty or GTA or Half Life or God of War ... sereis are excellent games but if we want to choose best one ...?
The highest rated game ever is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. For XBOX 360 the highest rated game ever is The Orange Box and then GTA 4.
In my opinion GTA 4 is the best game ever, and this game was my main reason to bought XBOX 360!

In your opinion yes But to me, absolutely not. Best game ever? Super Mario Bros (1985). Hands down.

My favorite all time--Gears 1 and 2 (tied)

Best sports game ever--Tecmo Super Bowl (NES)

These 2 games, both in their own way:

DOOM 2 was ID Software at their peak, with an all-star team consisting of John Carmack, Adrian Carmack, John Romero (he was good then, honest!), American Mcgee, Tom Hall, and others. 16 years later the game is amazingly playable.

Metroid Prime was a brilliantly constructed game from rookie designer Retro. IMO as close to perfection as gaming has been, and the best Action Adventure game ever.

i find it almost impossible to rank games of different generations and different genres on different platforms. how do you choose which one's best between games you adored, like the secret of monkey island and super mario world? gta vice city and goldeneye? half life and ocarina of time? streetfighter 2 and deus ex? etc etc. just cant do it!

Wow my god i can remember how much i was happy while playing Super Mario or Rambo III, i know there is lot of genre or platforms but in your mind which one is the best game you ever played?

To date my favourite game is inFamous. Last generation it was Final Fantasy 10. The generation before that it was Final Fantasy 7. Prior to that my favourite game was... Earth Worm Jim? Going back a ways now. But today my favourite game is inFamous.

So I guess that's the best game ever for me.

On topic I don't have a best game ever, just a lot of favorites like COD4, Sonic adventure, mario 64 etc etc...

Metroid Prime 2. I've described many times why it's so brilliant, so I won't bother now.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU- I wish I still had my PS2. Abyss was incredible.

My best game ever, however, is GTA San Andreas. It's one game to which I always come back, and it's easy to have fun and get some good laughs with.

Favorite games currently would have to be:

Half Life 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow Of Chernobyl, and recently I keep coming back to Metro 2033 and GTA 4.

Classic Favorites:

Ocarina Of Time, FF7's narrative and music is great despite its flaws and occasional overly Japanese RPGness (no offense to the die hard RPG fans), and oddly enough American McGee's Alice was a great game in my opinion. (Anyone else ever play that game?) And Ico was a flat out masterpiece.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. One of the most memorable, enjoyable games I've played. It had lots of charm and is set in the Star Wars universe on top of that. Close behind is Morrowind.

Dead Space is my favourite game ever

Super Mario Galaxy.

My two favorite (and the two I consider tied for best of all time) would be "Grand Theft Auto IV" and "Castlevania : Symphony of the Night". To this day I play these games over and over, and they never get boring for me.

Vice city and CoD 4 for me
