If a game was never released and you never played it. How would you know it was that good?
One thing is to see a cool video or a cool playing level. And another thing is a finished product.

I really hope Nintendo releases Star Fox 2 on the Virtual Console.
Propeller Arena for the Dreamcast. You can find videos of it on youtube. It was kind of like Crismson Skies, but with an even more over the top feel. Apparently, the game was never officially released because the release date was set for shortly after the tragedy on 9/11. TonySoprano314Propeller Arena was released in Japan.
It's a deathmatch fighting game with air planes.

The point is that it got an official release. It wasn't unreleased. You can download any game pirated on the internet for that matter. That's nothing special.
I was pumped for Starcraft Ghost forever, would've loved it to be finally released ...

me too.. looks like all the development team's efforts will go to waste.
That Sonic game that was planned to be released for the Saturn (forgot the name - was it Extreme or something?). The original build of it looked a lot like Super Mario Galaxy - only about 10 years before it. If it was released it may have actually made the Saturn decent (not that it didn't have any good games, it just wasn't as good as the other consoles at the time).GameBlender
Ya Sonic Xtreme.Iv always thought it was very similar to Super Mario Galaxy...sometimes I wonder if Nintendo got thier inspiration from it...but thats another subject.
I'd have to echo your sentiments here. (Games like Star Fox 2 are released in a sense, albeit unofficial.) However, even if we don't know if certain games are actually any good by playing them, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't want to be able to play them someday and find out. In my case, I hope to play Dragon Hopper some day, just to see if it would be a game worth picking up a Virtual Boy for.If a game was never released and you never played it. I'm going to vote for Earthbound 64. The game looked amazing.
We get no Earthbound love from Nintendo...I'm still waiting to play Mother 3 in English someday.
BC, Anyone else remember this amazing game. And yet it was canceled, it had the potential to be one of the greatest games of all time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aisRonTCNCcl0veBC Exacly what i was gonna say iv still got the magazine with it in , it looked ace =[

Holy crap that is insane. In the next Star Fox game, they better put that idea to use. Its beyond cool, and is way cooler then doing on foot and Landmaster parts in Assault.
I remember watching the preview trailer for that game and being so excited. It looked really innovative, and a free-roaming option would have made a nice feature. Also, have you heard of "Campus?" Quite an interesting unreleased game for the PS2 and Xbox by Ubisoft. View Video
Ubisoft is the company that developed "No More Heroes" for the Wii about a year ago, and when you watch the video above: you will see that Ubisoft's Travis Touchdown is just the recycled model from Campus. I have made just a theory, they could have just recycled his design and traits, but just look at him.
Also, Half-Life for Dreamcast was another game that should've been released but wasn't. Also wanted Twelve Tales: Conker 64 and Star Fox 2. I've actually seen beta footage of Star Fox 2, and the ROM image was leaked onto the internet a while ago.
I played the online-leaked copy of the Dreamcast Half-Life at a friend's game store once, and I can tell you all it was best it was not released.
The game did not looked better than a N64 game, had a very poor framerate, had "incredible annoying and long" loading times in between (only the train car intro alone had like 5 loading times!), and also because of the lack of buttons of the Dreamcast the controls were terrible cumberstone.
To me it was pretty much unplayable. Come to think of it, maybe it was because of that it wasn't released to begin with.
Skies of Arcadia for the PS2. i've heard and read so many good things about this game but it was cancelled for the PS2. and i dont own a dremcast or gamecube.
I think it was Kirby in Game Cube (Not the Air Ride) , I think it will up for Wii. Mix-abilities FTW!
There was a game that was supposed to come out on the Playstation1 called Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Everything was going fine until 3DO went bankrupt and the title went down in flames. I think the basic outline of the game was that Armageddon was upon us and you were to play as Abaddon searching for these Chosen people left on Earth before the Horsemen find them. It looked very dark (obviously) and was to supposed to be very violent, as I'm sure the end of the world would be, but it never came to be... :(
True Fantasy Live Online. An MMO for the xbox under development by Level-5. It looked gorgeous and the character custimization looked awesome.
the original goldeneye (even though the final build was awsome the beta was even better according to numorous sites ) it had 2 more cheats 2 other levels in mission mode
the facility doors looked like the ones in the movie
they had a motorcycle like in the movie on run way they had other objectives in dam level etc
also the original gc build of perfect dark zero or xbox build, there was a trialer on you tube it looked better and would have had better stuff
including the original joanna dark look ,
instead of long red hair it was short red hair
and a couple of old sites mentioned it having all guns from the original pd and some new ones
the final product didnt even have half the guns and didnt offer many to begin with
i to would have liked duke nukem forever for gc xbox ps2 ,
but it got canned for it
