The Witcher - Finally, an RPG that delivers a real mature plot and actually gives weight to the choices your character makes rather then the typical good vs. evil path, this is the one RPG since the Platinum age that actually deliver actual moral ambiguity in the decisions your character makes. It's been quite awhile since an RPG delivered a great complex story that is truly non-linear. I also can't remember the last time a game delivered real adult content without being immature.....maybe Mafia back in 2002. Excellent atmosphere and of couse a campaign that is over 60 hours long with multiple story path. I definitely see this as an RPG GOTY contender here at Gamespot and other places, hopefully even winner.
Crysis - Crytek has delivered the first of what I would consider actual "next-gen" technology, and with it they also delivered one of the best FPS games this year or even in awhile. The technology and engine in Crysis is second to none....huge fully interactive environments with a level of detail that is literally the best out of any game currently out. Not only that but as a shooter Crysis delivers excellent sandbox gameplay that lets the player approach difference situations a variety of ways. It's no surprise this game has been receiving top reciew scores, especially here at Gamespot.
Super Mario Galaxy - SMG is one of the most unique and best games to come along for any platform for awhile. I expect nothing less from the mind of Miyamoto. It's a game anyone can pick up, and that can appeal to any type of gamer. Nintendo definitely delivered a winner with this one.....if I had to place my bet on which game will walk away with Overall GOTY this year, not only at Gamespot but at other big gaming sites, it's this game.
