Seriously though, how can I pick between games like Batman Arkham City, Rayman Origins, and The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword? All three have obviously been crafted with absolute devotion ond care. All three have superb and clever level design as well as brilliant and pitch perfect controls. I'm quite serious when I say that these three are probably the best of this whole gen
in terms of games ive played for the first time in 2011, i can definitely say limbo. however, im not sure which 2011 new release id pick between portal 2, skyward sword, or dark souls. im playing skyrim right now and i wouldnt be surprised at all if thats in the mix too. its just been a really good year for gaming. LoG-Sacramentwell skyward sword was ok, but IDK if it was portal good or dark soul good, I mean C'MON, nintendo has been going down hill for a while game wise in my book

I suppose I can't take your opinion away with my own opinion... but you can't change my mind: I played skyward, it was horrible

its just one of those games. even with the additional cutscenes, skyward sword has a respect for gameplay (something that it shares with portal 2 and dark souls in their own ways). most of the narrative points that drive link from one place to another are openly there just to service the gameplay. there arent many missions in the game that absolutely needed to be in there to tell tale of link and zelda. its about the journey rather than the destination and the journey is always changing and either developing previous ideas or adding new ones for variety.Games i'm currently playing through...
I've gotten further into Skyrim, have not yet started on Skyward Sword yet. I was initially really not looking forward to Skyrim and i'm happy to see my fears were misplaced. Really... i found Oblivion to be an absolute bore, of all the big AAA fantasy games, i found Oblivion to be the epitome of Generic Fantasy.
Skyward Sword has to be the one Zelda game since Ocarina of Time that i have greatly been looking forward too. The more i saw of SS the more i got interested about it.
Just to name a few...some of my favorite games for this year are Saints Row: The Third, AC Revelations, Batman: AC, for instance. These games really surprise me. I plan on playing through L.A. Noire this week and Bulletstorm is a great game. I have been laying low with Skyrim for awhile, but I am going to jump back into it with a brand-new character and go from there...
