@jasean79: Interesting choices, think I didn't play any of those games. XD

@gamerno66666: Great list! Those are all considered classics!

@bowchicka07: You seem to have great taste by choosing Goldeneye 007, but I haven't played any of those other games. XD

The first two are PC games, HOMM, RTS' with a different approach with hours and hours of replay value and great strategy in every move you make and everything you buy.

Perfect Dark, Battletanx and GoldenEye are all N64 games of course.

Perfect Dark was a futuristic shooter which was a response to GoldenEye's sucess but offers bots for MP ( one of the first games to sucessfully do so) which in turn offers a lot of scenarios for MP.

Battletanx was just a straight up tank vs tanks MP but offered strategy and map control which made it endless fun.

The rest are PS1 games which saw a lot of good games for it's console making it hard to choose my favorites from.

Honorable mentions would be RE 1 & 2, Silent Hill, Spyhunter, Half-Life, Mario Kart 64, Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Super Smash Bros., Driver, Tekken 3, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, Twisted Metals, Crash Team Racing, Vigilante 8

Oh man, you're missing out on some awesome games. I was big into Sega Genesis and PS1 in the 90's. Not much of a Nintendo fan other than Gameboy.

@jasean79: I never had a PS1 or a Sega Genesis =/. But Nintendo published a huge number of extremely awesome and with very high quality games in the 90s. More so than any other company on any other decade, in my humble opinion. Many of them I didn't even got the chance to play, like Super Metroid, Mario RPG and Perfect Dark, just to name a few, and Yoshi's Island and A Link to the Past I only played on an GBA emulator on my PC, many years after their original SNES release, even though I had a SNES lol. Funny thing is I was never into Gameboys and I never actually owned one. I only played on my friends' Gameboy a few times and the GBC or GBA games on my list were all played on an emulator on my PC, a number of years after they were released, because I don't want to play games outside my own house. In the street there are other things to do and see and I don't like to spend time playing games on a tiny screen =P, but maybe that's just me... Thanks for your contribution! =)

@Jacanuk: I chose these years because the first game I've ever played, Super Mario World, was released in 1991, and because I think it's more reasonable to make a "best games list" or a "favorite games list" of only that decade instead of making a list of "best/favorite games of all time", like many I've seen in these forums. The gameplay engineering, the graphics, the sound and the hardware supporting all that has changed so much since those years that I think it's unfair and nonsensical to compare those games with the games released in the last 12 months, for example. But maybe it's just me seeing things like this... Thanks for your contribution! =)

@The_Last_Ride: Great list! Every game that I've played I liked it! I had a lot of fun playing Mario Kart 64 for a couple of Summers and also remember having fun playing Diddy Kong Racing for a while. But Tetris was released for the Arcades in 1988 and for both NES and Gameboy in 1989, so you can't put it on that list, sorry. Thanks for your contribution! =)

Exactly! I think Nintendo developed more really great games overall in that decade, but Rareware was a close 2nd.

@Jag85: That's a big list of games man! My intention was for you to make your list of the overall very best games of that decade, not a list of the best games of each year of that decade, but I still liked it =) Thanks for your contribution!

@RimacBugatti: Good list man! Many thanks for your contribution! =)

@bruno_fmenedes: No problem! I really didn't get into gaming until the Dreamcast came out but I played Genesis a little bit and Playstation a little bit. Nintendo did a very good job with Zelda and a few others. I was actually trying to Remember the original Dead or Alive. I can't remember that game or what system it was on?

@RimacBugatti: I agree, Nintendo did an extremely good job in that decade. The original Dead or Alive was released for the arcades in 1996, for the Saga Saturn in 1997 and for the Playstation in 1998 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_or_Alive_(video_game). Thanks again for your contribution! ;)

That was the Golden Age of gaming. Such a glorious time to be alive. All the scrubs today will never experience the same glory we did. That's sad, isn't it?

The same thing can be said about most genres of music. Anything good eventually becomes watered down and tainted with greed. Remember when games included thick ass instruction manuals with colored artwork and glossy pages? Now all manuals are on a menu screen if they even take time to that.

True story! Yes it is sad... I still remember reading and seeing the awesome artwork in the old instruction manuals. I really miss that! Many thanks for both your contributions! =D

I am from that time too but I am not that nostalgic enough to call that the "Golden Age". That's just having rose-tinted glasses.

Not really in order apart from number 1 .

Final fantasy VII (ps1)

Resident Evil (Sega saturn)

Super Castlevania 4 (snes)

Metal gear solid (ps1)

Silent hill (ps1)

Daytona USA (Sega saturn)

Alex kidd in miracle world (Sega master system)

Donkey Kong country 2 (snes)

Road Rash (Sega Saturn)

Night into dreams (Sega Saturn)

There's way more it's hard to narrow them down, back in the 90s most my gaming was on the saturn, yeah it was bad choice didn't get a ps1 until a few years later and never bothered with the 64.
