Playing Mortal Kombat II on SNES with friends. I sucked so badly, but at least I'd get to see all the fatalities when they'd beat me! (since I could never do them myself)
Fatalities and hidden characters and all that stuff seemed so much more mysterious before you could just go online and look everything up on gamefaqs at any time.
I have two memories.
When a Friend brought me up to his attic, turned on a computer and started up Doom, I had goosebumps all over when I watched the menu and the first level and hear the really catchy music. I was Six years old and it was the first time I ever saw a Video game.
Also
When me and a friend played Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on his Sega Genesis, Me being Sonic and him being Tails.
We played from early morning to nightime and managed to get through the game.
1) Pwning my neighbors in Tekken 3 and Bloody Roar 2. Since then they stopped challenging me in fighting games.
2) Back in my elementary days me and my friends used to run like hell towards a PC gaming rental station near our school after class just to play Half-Life, Counter-Strike, and Red Alert 2.
3) I killed Nemesis with every weapon in RE3
I miss being a kid for one. Growing up so fast is depressing. Feels like 1997 was like yesterday and WCW was on TV again with Hogan and the nWo every week :(her0carn
I know exactly what you mean. I'm 20 now and time flys by faster the older you get...
I remember back in grade 6 when everyone on the school grounds at recess were talking about how to beat The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time. We'd talk about where to get all the Poes in Hyrule field and how to beat the Water Temple. I eventually caught the Hyrule Loach in the fishing pond and nobody would believe me.
Resetting my score on Ms pacman ( and working back up to over 500k) at a laundry mat while my mom was washing clothes, when i was short enough that i had to stand on an upside down clothes hamper in order to see the screen.
Oddly enough my worst gaming memory was coming back to the same laundry mat and finding out that they shut the power off every night and had subsequently cleared my score.
My best gaming memories come from when I was 8 years old. I remember playing the MGS demo which came with my 1998 Offical Playstation Magazine and was amazed by it even though I didn't know how to crawl under that crate to get to the elevator. 8)
My other memories include playing Spyro The Dragon which was my first game ever. I also had a blast playing Twisted Metal 2 with my buddy ... Minion! Gosh ... I miss those days of just having fun wihtout having any worries. :(

Me and my brother play Twisted Metal 2 Co-op weekly... and have been doing so for 11 years :) Strangely enough it can still suprise us heh.
As for my favourite memory... It was either when I got a Sega Megadrive for my 9th birthday (I actually ran around the house screaming.. I'm worse than N64 kid :P) or when I got my PS1 for my 12th. I played the demo disk again and again for days :D I can quote the Broken Sword trailer by memory.
For me my first memory of gaming was the NES on Xmas Super Mario brothers and Duckhunt (with gun) and Legend of Zelda. Then my first years of being a Teen was Mario world and A link to the past.
Man i miss those days:cry:
So many... Legend of Zelda : Link to the Past and OOT, Golden eye , FF7, secret of mana, Super castlevania, mario kart, bomber man.
Not to mention all the money i use to spend in the arcades on SFII, Super ghosts and goblins, golden axe and TMNT.
good times.
The day i got my first ps one, it was my birthday and i had been telling my parents that i really really wanted one.
So first thing i then morning i ran into my parents room to get my gift, and there it was, the game i got with it was spyro the dragon because i was into dinosaurs at the time and my parents thought dragons would fit perfectly for me then. and it did, most of the morning i was playing spyro, then i had to get take a break because my friends was coming over to celebrate, but first thing i did when they were gone was playing spyro.
Another good memory was playing snes with my best friend at his house, we played street fighter 2 i think and castelvainia, awsome games, we even tried the supergame boy, we wer going to play a fighting game on the gameboy, the screen was small so i couldent see the characters, so i ended upp picking a girl, and i had did two times already that day so he became a litte angry and said, why do you always pick the girl characters:P
My and the same mate used to play a fighting game on the ps1 all the time too but cant remember the name, we loved that game it was super fun.
long hot summer days playing the good old rocket knight adventures, shinobi and streets of rage 2 on the Genesis.
PSone - RE2 party weekend with a few friends. Beating it with Leon/Claire scenario a+b and then play through again w/ bonus weapons + costumes.
My oldest and best memory was getting to the final boss of StarTropics when I was 6-7 years old (didn't beat it though). I later misplaced the game and moved, took until earlier this year to find out what the game was again (I'm 18 now).
Beating wurm: Journey to the Centre of the Earth for the NES at a young age, as this was the first game I'd played with any amount of story. (although looking back it isn't great)
Buying a used copy of Legend of Zelda: Link to the past in Quebec as a child. Turned out to be french and I only speak English fluently. Struggled with the game for a year trying to figure out how to beat it for almost a year, and never actually got as far as getting the book off of the bookshelf.
Playing MGS several times when roughly 10 years old even though I was too young to understand much of the story.
Playing Gran Turismo with my cousin for two days straight in the easier races to get enough money to buy the RX-7 race car.
Buying Star Ocean Till the End of Time and playing it over 15 times in the two years I had it. It was the first RPG I'd ever played, which started me into playing many others.
My best memory was when, after having the two games for a few years, i finally figured out what the top part of Sonic and Knuckles for the Genesis was for. (I was only 6 when I got the game and didn't bother to even look at the manual)
After that, Sonic 3 and Knuckles became my favorite game, and is still in my top 10 all time games.
man so many memories i remembered playing contra on nes and tmnt on nes and streetfighter2turbo on snes but my favorites were playing n64's goldeneye ,mario tennis, and supersmash bros and mario kart...man the remakes wont ever make those kindof memories........beating final fantasy 7 nothing beats those memories,,,remakes are good just can..........iuno
