So, I've recently been getting into some of the horror titles out now. I never really played many in the genre before. I am wondering, what do you guys think the best horror game (story, not necessarily gameplay) of all time is?
silent hill series. fatal frame series. hands down awesomely creeepy and great stories. and 8gb of ram? Wowzers. Do you have an OS that can utilize that much?

Vista 64... I run a TON of crap in the background for various reasons... but honestly I've still never seen it hit a 100% so I guess it is overkill
I don't like Fatal Frame because the player characters heads are slightly too big and out of proportion. The one coming out for the Wii looks nice mind.
Silent Hill 4 has a very depressing atmosphere and a great story, but it's made better if you played Silent Hill 2 and 3, which are also great games! So yeah, Silent Hill.
Fear with it's slow motion and stupid flying kicks isn't really scary, it's too gung-ho and doesn't create the right atmosphere.
Resident Evil had the best story line? "Look Jill, it's a monster!" Or save the presidents daughter! It has to be the presidents daughter, not like, the Secretary of defences or some random rich guy who owns an oil rig. Nah, the presidents daughter! So he can infect her and when she's doing a speech she'll go "POP" and the world will get infected! What kind of master plan is that?
Why not capture a poor unknown child from a high populated but poorer region such as the slums of Mexico, then give him back infected, and let the parasite run rampant? You'r going to attract much less attention that way yet still get the same results.
yeah i'd say resident evil had a good storyline. although i liked it better when the game was filled with zombies, not farmers and monks that have friggin parasites in their heads.
