Which Mario RPG do you think is the best. Out of:

Super Mario RPG (SNES)

Paper Mario (N64)

Mario & Luigi: Super Star Saga (GBA)

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GCN)

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (DS)

Super Paper Mario (Wii) (Even though it's not really a traditional RPG, more of an an Action RPG)

My favorite is Super Mario RPG, and my second favorite is Paper Mario. I'm interested in hearing your opinions and what people think the best Mario RPG is.

Yeah, Super Mario PRG easily tops them all.

Thousand Year Door and Super Star Saga were the only other entries that I found notably superb.

Super mario RPG no doubt. The other ones were good though.

I have to disagree with everyone so far. I think Thousand Year Door is hands down better than Mario RPG. I like Mario RPG but havne't been able to get into it since I got it for the VC. For TYD I couln't pull myself away from it.

Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG were my favorite--I don't really remember which one I liked better.
Mario & Luigi: Super Star Saga came after those two.
The Thousand Year Door I bought but became quickly bored with and never finished. Perhaps the game doesn't have the same charm as previous titles, or perhaps I was tired of the franchise by that time--or perhaps I just wasn't in the mood for a Mario game.

I say SuperStar Saga, mostly because it was one of the few Mario games I actually finished. Don't get me wrong, I love Mario, I just don't play his games much, and I don't have a GC or Wii to play them.

The SNES one. I've played through that game countless times, and I still go back for more. It was probably the first game that exposed me to the RPG genre in the first place.

Super Mario RPG. Longest, most fun-filled, holds the most memories, simply the best.

Mario & Lugi. It has the charm and the unique RPG elements that places it above all of the other titles, even Mario RPG on Snes.

i am against the grain on this one a little...

i think thousand year door was better than rpg. i remember being quite disappointed with mario rpg when it came out. it was good, and there were some tricky items to get, it wasn't what i was hoping for though. i wanted something on par with like chrono trigger, mario rpg just didn't deliver for me. thousand year door, in my opinion was better.

I've played M&L: Superstar Saga, M&L: Partners in Time, Paper Mario: TTYD and Super Paper Mario.

The Thousand Year Door takes the cake.

Super Mario RPG (SNES) no question about it. Paper Mario ruined what could have been the greatest series of all time. Just another product of the patented Nintendo dumbing down of its games.

I played Mario rpg a couple of times but that game never convinced me,the best imo is Paper Mario 64 and its sequel in the GC.

I'd say Paper Mario 2. I rented it and didn't want to take it back. Something that has happened with very few games I've rented. One of the most addictive games I've played.

Wow. No one said Partners In Time or Super Paper Mario. I kind of expected that though. Well I'd like to give a shoutout to Super Paper Mario, which is a very good game. Haven't played Partners In Time.

Super Mario RPG is and always will be one of Squares lazy little moneymakers, Great game but too much was stolen from Final Fantasy for it to have any real charm.

I vote Paper Mario because it's a true Mario game and a quality RPG for those who realize difficulty doesn't mean anything when it comes to quality of a game.
