What is your favorite videogame based on a movie/ TV series or your favorite Movie/ TV series baased on a videogame? Mine would be Wanted: Weapons of Fate. The fun bullet motion control and a good combat mechanic make up for the dumbass AI.

Wow, there is so much crap out of there it's often hard to find the rare nugget of quality :)

Game --> Movie

For me it's the first (and only the first) REsident Evil movie. To me it felt like they kept the survival horror elements that made thegame what it was. Most importantly it was a good movie whether you'd played the games or not.

Movie --> Game

Terminator Salvation. Just kidding. I can't think of any I've played that were any good unfortunately. Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs wasn't bad but I was playing it with a 4 year old so..... :)

EDIT : Changing my answer for number 2. Goldeneye on Nintendo 64 was a brilliant film adaptation. Not sure how it'd stand up if I played it now but the way they did SP in that was amazing at the time

I honestly thought that Batman Returns for the Super Nintendo was better than the movie itself. I think it still may be my favorite video game based off of a movie still.

Game --> Movie: Silent Hill. The slashing nurses and pyramid head looked pretty cool.

Movie --> Game: Batman Arkham Asylum. The gameplay was very smooth and kept me interested until the end. Can't wait for the next one to come out!

The Warriors was a pretty decent adaptation. I didn't make it too far through the game when I was playing it, but it was pretty solid. I've heard that The Thing is supposed to be decent as well.

I honestly can't remember which one it was, but there was an anime based on Street Fighter that I LOVED. There was this whole scene with Chun Li fighting Vega in her apartment that was amazingly epic. I need to find out what it was because I'd love to see it again.

Aside from that, the 1st Resident Evil movie comes to mind as well. I could almost smell the burning flesh with that one!

Lol you just like that because it was after a shower scene :D It was called Street Fighter II : The Animated Movie.

And you're right. That's right up there as one of the best adaptations!

I enjoyed the first Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil movies. Wolverine: Origins was a really solid game.

This game is not based on any movie.

I personally don't have an answer on this. I'm not much of a movie watcher and from those that I've seen I don't think that anything is mentionable better than others. There are some extremely bad cases though.

I would have to say that my favorite games based on movies have been some of the Bond games; in particular, Goldeneye, From Russia With Love, and Quantum of Solace.

I have to agree. I played it on Xbox, and I found it a solid game. Immersive and scary as hell, too.

Completely forgot about RE. The animated movie was good. And the silent hill movie was decent. I only play those games because pyramid head is scary as hell while at the same time badass.

Can I add another? Well I'm going to anyway. I really enjoyed the three Star Wars games on SNES: Super Star Wars, Super Empire Strikes Back and Super Return of the Jedi. They stuck to the movie script fairly well but were extremely enjoyable games to play as well.

For a TV Show made into a game I really liked the Lost game even if it was painfully short.

For movies based off games, probably Silent Hill, since they remained somewhat true to the game, and it was pretty disturbing. Like it should be lol.
