between those, Mario 64
though personally I like Conker's Bad Fur day and Resident Evil 2 more on the N64
Ocarina of Time is better. The gameplay still holds up very well whereas Super Mario 64 feels dated compared to present day platformers and the camera is unbearable.Rocky32189
I actually thought OoT was kind of dated as well when I last played it, but I think that was more because subsequent Zelda games borrowed so many elements from it.
But yeah, every 3D platformer ever drew inspiration from Mario 64, so it is bound to feel dated.
They're both fun but I really loved Zelda. Everything was perfect, the combat and the dungeon puzzles espically. I don't realise why they don't do that with games now - I mean with the power available is it too muh to make a fighting system as fluid and graceful as the zelda series? Take Assassin's Creed for instance - everything feels so clunky and heavy when fighting, and your only attack option is "attack" - no stabing, horizontal cutting, overhead slash, etc.
I think it has too be Perfect Dark, such an amazing game, the mp & combat simulater was incredible and still has features thatgames today lack! The best!
OOT is the better game, but SM64 is still my all time favorite game. For me, SM64 has so much replayabilityand it never gets old.
Super Mario 64. Not that Zelda doesn't deserve the praise it gets, but mario 64 holds up even better. The player control over mario has yet to be topped, imo. It created a template that was used for sunshine and galaxies. Sure those games may have slightly refined it, but the "better" control has more to do with the camera than physically moving mario around.
I'm replaying Mario 64, at 118 stars, and the game is an absolute masterpeice. I love zelda as much as its praise, and it is probably an overall more enjoyable experience, but from a strictly game design aspect, Mario is just the better game. Even upon release, Zelda could have performed a little better, and there were areas of the game that felt a tad cumbersome.
Not only do I think that Super Mario 64 is the best Nintendo 64 game I also think it is the best game ever created.
Super Mario 64. I love the N64, its a tied with the NESfor my 2nd favorite system, behind the Wii. It has many great games, but I personally think that Ocarina Of Time has to be the most overrated game I have ever played, even though its in my top 10 favorite games. Its a really great game and all, but in my opinion there are better (Mario 64, Galaxy 1 & 2, Mario 1 & 3, LoZ NES...). I just think it doesnt deserve title of "best game of all time".
I agree with this. You also have the coolest avatar I have seen. Two Epic games.. but hands down the winner is Legend Of Zelda OoT:D
