Let's see... In my humble opinion and off the top of my head, the best in some of my preferred jrpg series are as follows:
Final Fantasy 3 (#6 in japan),
Tales of: Vesperia
Xenogears (the first in the Xeno"saga" series)
Suikoden & Suikoden 2
All great games and soooo much fun to play!
Edit: I almost forgot Star Ocean the 2nd Story from the Star Ocean series! *Legasp!*
All of those I agree to. Including: Dragon Quest:8Let's see... In my humble opinion and off the top of my head, the best in some of my preferred jrpg series are as follows:

Agreed! DQ 8 is awesome, even though I was almost turned off by the Dragon Ball artwork, I'm glad I gave it a chance.
I can't decide which is better, Tales of Symphonia, or Tales of the Abyss. Tales of the Abyss had a much better story, but Tales of Symphonia felt like it had smoother combat. For now I'm gonna say Tales of the Abyss because it was more unique.
I haven't played Tales of Vesperia yet because I don't have a 360, but I'm still banking on the PS3 version being released in the United States. If that never happens, I may have to buy a 360 sometime in the future.
