Best plot twist in a video game? **SPOILERS***

What was the best plot twist ever found in a video game? The kind of twist that makes your heart pump with excitement, and gives you that feeling of "OMG. Ther is no way I am putting this game down".

For me, it must have been that moment in Final Fantasy 6,

[spoiler] where you jump from normal world to ruined world, and you get to start with Celes all over again. Which one is your favorite? [/spoiler]

KOTOR had a nice twist as well.

The one from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time,

[spoiler] where it was revealed that the male Sheik was indeed Princess Zelda, under a spell of magic to hide her true identity. [/spoiler]

The MGS had a few really great moments like that.

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune - I remember thinking........WOW, this game is amazingly great and then it tuns into Resident Evil?!ThisCurse

I loved the Uncharted twist. Like something straight out of Indiana Jones.

I'm going to exclude every game where a character has amnesia or something like that, because I am so sick of that crap.

Okay, I had to think pretty hard about this, but for now I'm going to say the end of the first Diablo. It's short but utterly fitting for the series.

the world ends with you had a couple really good moment.

and chrono cross comes to mind.

Real plot twists...many games are low on that.There are two who really suprised me : Grandia 2,which questions all you have done and Second Sight...belive me,you don´t expect that...there´s no reason why you should.Maybe the best ending-story-twist in the last 10 years.Definetly worth playing.

though i liked kotor's twists alot i didnt like that they were obvious... but still it was great game

MGS twists are great too, i like complexity and they serve well

It's not necessarily the best, just one I can remember, COD4, one of the characters you play as...

That caught me off guard and almost made it a personal vendetta for me. I thought that was a nice touch.

Plot Twist is good and all, but not all plot twist is good.

Just because it is unexpected doesn't make it good plot twist.

Star Ocean 3 comes to my mind when it comes to plot twist. When it happened, I completely dropped my controller and stayed away from the biggest bull **** plot I've ever seen. Unexpected? Yeah and it was unexpectedly bad.

As for the best, I'd have to go with Final Fantasy VII. It had big enough plot twist that made me retrace all the plot to that point, and it was within the nature of the world and the plot. It wasn't completely off the road and maintained the feeling and mood until that point, but completely changed the story until that point and story to come after it. One of the rare cases where plot twist actually had a purpose, instead of being just a shock factor.

How could I forget would you kindly? Fits in with the whole creepy aspect of the game.

I'll have to go with the "would you kindly" twist from Bioshock aswell.

The one about the F.E.A.R. Protaganist and Alma also caught me off guard.

The truth about James Sunderlands Wife's death in Silent Hill 2 also shocked me.
