Best PS1 JRPG

I only played Final Fantasy games and Chrono Cross on the Ps1 so I cant comment on the other games. Final Fantasy VII is my favourite game of all time so I'll go with that.

I hate ff7. also do not like cross that much. But if i have to pick one then cross it is.

As much as I love Chrono Cross, Xenogears has hands-down the best mechanics and story I've seen of all these games.

Tough choice, a lot of great games there. I chose Crono Cross, I absolutely loved that game.

I voted Chrono Cross, but I also liked FF8 even though its disliked by many. I liked some areas of FF7 but its a game i never went back to and didn't think it was as good as people said.

It was funny when FF8 came out i bashed the game quite a bit and thought I wouldnt like it, i ended up renting it to prove myself right... but got addicted and then eventually bought it, and its one of my favourite ps1 games. Worst part about FF8 though was not being able to skip the guardian force summoning sequences each time you cast them, it was painful to have to watch every single time... but you had to keep some of them trained and stuff incase you needed them in tougher boss fights.

I voted for FINAL FANTASY VIII

No Vagrant Story?

@Minishdriveby: Technically that's not a JRPG, at least not in the traditional definition. It's more a dungeon crawler than anything.

@Minishdriveby: I tried to keep it traditional.Hence,no SRPGs were allowed,ARPGS weren't etc. Vagrant Story has had a lot of praises but it isn't technically traditional,also if anyone is wondering or anyone wonders in the future thats why Valkyrie Profile was not allowed

ff7 got best story like I heard if they remake it,that will be great

and will superior to all parts

I did not vote because I could not choose between FF9 and legend of dragoon. Just about all of the games on that list are great though.
