I loved that compilation very nice although I hear the Japanese version is better. Also just another suggestion but what about World Heroes Gorgeous?I also think hokuto no ken is a great game. But i think the best one in the ps2 is Street Fighter Alpha III, featured in the alpha anthology.

well... im not really a world heroes fan, but i quite liked the first games back in the 90s. I dont know the "gorgeous" one yet, maybe ill try it
Recently i played Capcom fighting evolution, and contrary to the critics, i found it very nice, cause it has the trademark gameplay of the capcom games, and very good graphics. imo, its another exeple of great 2d fighter for the ps2.
There are many PS2 fighting games. I can't narrow it down to just one "best" game. These are just a few of my favorites:
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match
Capcom vs SNK2
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Tekken Tag Tournament
Tekken 5
Soul Calibur 3
Samurai Shodown Anthology
Darkstalkers Collection
Saint Seiya: The Hades

[QUOTE="dragonps"][QUOTE="thebest31406"]Street Fighter III: Third Strike is the one I play the most, so I'm going with that.nini200To be honest it don't really get much better than SF3TS ;) Garou: Mark of the Wolves says hi :D Garou is an amazing game it really is, but I think SF3TS just pips it, although its a close contest and one I wouldn't want to judge lol
As everyone has pointed out, the Street Fighter collections are well worth your time. Also, I have yet to see anyone bring up Neo Geo Battle Colisseum. It is probably in my top three PS2 2D fighters. Also, the SNK collections like Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, and World Heroes are pretty solid for revisiting the golden days of SNK and the genre in general.
