Best Racing Game You've Ever Played?

I have never enjoyed a racing game as much as I enjoyed Rumble Racing on the PS2. Loads of stunts to give you speed boosts, weapons to use, great cars and a wide variety of tracks made it pretty awesome. It was made by EA, damn I would love to see a version of this with improved graphics placed on XBLA or something. Rumble Racing 2 would be awesome as well.

Gran Turismo 4

Dirt 2. It's the most entertaining racing game I ever played :)

Gran Turismo 2, haven't found a racing game since that I've liked more.

GTR2.

Here's one to be different: Crash Team racing for the Playstation.

I still play it to this day, and it's controls and gameplay don't feel outdated at all.

Mario Kart: Double Dash for the GameCube.

When you are playing this side by side with your cousin, one driving and the other tossing a koopa shell at the ******* behind you, this game is heaven. I've had the most fun out of any racing game with Double Dash.

Rumble Racing is Nascar Rumble 2..but I would be all for a sequel (because EA's latest Nascar game was horrible). The game isn't as good as RR, but you can drive the all-powerful chicken truck.

My fave racing game is Star Wars : Racer.

Rumble Racing was good, but I played Gran Turismo 3 alot more, and my number 1 is Burnout 3: Takdown. Finished it 99.9% and still play it every now and then. It's perfect in everyway, well, besides the now outdated graphcis maybe.

Need For Speed Most Wanted for PC. With a wheel nothing has beaten it for me.

Any racing game developed by CODEMASTERS........

Mario Kart 64 followed closely by Ridge Racer Type 4.

The whole GT series, Forza 1 & 2 and F1 Championship. Then there was TOCA and TOCA 2 for the PS that was done by Codemasters. It covered the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) these 2 racing games where hands down pretty awesome for it's time and was out before GT. If you can find them I would highly recomend getting them both.

Burnout Revenge.

not trying to be a fangirl about this but... mario kart is the best racing game :)

it is accessible, fun, and easy to enjoy for the family. gran turismo and forza is also good, but it reqs patience and pracitce since its a sim.

Burnout Paradise & Forza 2

Gran Turismo 4. Without a doubt, the most satisfying racing game I've ever played. It was amazing. Right up to the bit where the disc broke.

Burnout Paradise!!! No racing game imo will come close to this one. It has perfected every aspect of racing that it could bring tears to ones eyes. Its DLC Big Surf Island won Best Racing Game last year. You know what that says, that even with others being released, they loved it so much and other racing games were such garbage, that it got yet another award for their stellar game.

Nah, NFS never has, and never will be a realracing simulator. You could tell right off the bat just by how turning feels.

tokyo xtreme racer drift 2 ofcourse. best courses, best physics(for console games), great music, best career mode, best weather effects, etc.

Nothing else still compares. GT5-somewhat more realistic in some areas but not as fun. GT4-stupitest fakest simulator ever with worst physics. Forza-same. NFS-not my style. PC sims-realistic but just not as fun, and courses aren't as good.

Project Gotham Racing 3

It's the only racing game I ever really finished. For me, it had the right balance between arcade and sim. It introduced things like GothamTV and photo/replay sharing. And I got sucked into the car collecting. Being able to arrange my cars in their various garages and to walk around and just look at my cars was pretty cool.
