Hi all, does anyone know where to find accurate and up to date lists of the Best selling videogames of all time? Most of the ones I have found on google seem dated and vary in their listings.

My buddy , a manager at the Gamestop down the street said that COD Modern WArfare 2 was the best selling game of all time. How much truth is in that, I am not sure, but what I do know is that he told me Gamestop as a franchise had the most preorders of all time for this title.

It looks like the list similar to that of Wikipedia's list of best-selling video games. FYI the Wikipedia list did not include any cross-platform games or games that were bundled with consoles.

My buddy , a manager at the Gamestop down the street said that COD Modern WArfare 2 was the best selling game of all time. How much truth is in that, I am not sure, but what I do know is that he told me Gamestop as a franchise had the most preorders of all time for this title.daleerin24

COD:MW2 has sold just over 20 million copies world wide, which would put it at like 6-7 best selling video game of all time as far as copies sold, that's my own research so don't take that for fact but there have been a handful of games that have sold over 20 million copies.

My guess is Pac-Man... Its a Pay-Per-Play game (aka Arcade game) and its been around for 30 years so it must be the best selling game.

Well wikipedia isn't always right hopefully he knowns that since I know modern warfare should be at least in the top 20

i don't know of any accurate source online.even cge charts are estimations each year.and age,woodmont and most other expos get their numbers from cge.one thing that alot of people forget(or either aren't old enough to remember) is that early on millions of units were sold worldwide for one game,pong.even nintendo has tvg6 and 15,radio shack had multiples,radofin,bintatone,magnavox,sheen,sears,montgomery ward,atari,kmart,coleco,etc.some vendors deal in 300+ different pongs.if it even is possible to get figures for hundreds of brand names and decades of sales it should be a very large number.

According to Good Game, and assuming we're including PC games, The Sims series has apparently sold more copies than the Halo and COD series' combined. I don't know how true this is, but it'd certainly have to be up there you'd think.

saints row pd0 etc many have sold over 1 million but mostall nintendo games break 10 or more million , so there for i cant consider cod the best of all time with nintendo doing this with not just one oftheir games but majority of them

WoW must be #1 in terms of raking in the most cash..not in number of sales obviously, but 12 million+ subscribers all paying $15 per month? Jesus..
