hockey: i always liked wayne gretzky's hockey.. i think it was a launch title

football: for fun blitz was cool but madden is always the best sports sim

basketball - kobe bryants nba courtside

football - nfl blitz

baseball - ken griffeys slugfest

Mario Golf and Mario Tennis were a blast imo, though I'm not sure if they are the type of sports game you are looking for. I also had FIFA (not sure which year) and it was enjoyable.

I only play soccer sports games.

ISS64 is amazing. Its sequel ISS2000 is really good too.

Basketball: I always preferred the NBA Live series here, although Kobe Bryant's Courtside games weren't too bad either.

Football: Aside from NFL Blitz, I thought NFL Quarterback's Club was pretty good, but Madden was most likely better.

Hockey: I sadly haven't played any hockey games for the N64

Baseball: I really like the All-Star Baseball games here. Very fun with a lot of options.

Football: Like most others have said, NFL Blitz is the way to go.

Hockey: Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey 98 or NHL 99, NHL is more of a sim obviously, WG 3D is more arcadey.

Baseball: Ken Griffey Jr's Slugfest

Mario Golf and Mario Tennis are also amazingly fun games to play.
