Best videogame to play when you're lonely.

Lately I haven't seen many of my friends for all sorts of reasons. people moving for school and other reasons. I'm sure some of you get lonely when you're home with nothing to do. So you turn on a video game. What type of video game would you play? For me, I'd normally pick up something with voice acting (obviously). I like to RP as in... pretend i'm in the game, friends with the main charicter or something. So I want the game to have a very interesting story. Sometimes maybe a scary game or just your average RPG. I enjoy the "Tales" series because they have an awesome sence of humor. Or say , Resident Evil. You could pretend you're an R.P.D officer or something. :) let me know what your favorite "When you're lonely" games are.

That's true, but i was thinking more of an offline type of thing. Like if you can't get online for whatever reason (I know you can get online almost anywhere now. but you know what I mean.) Because an MMO or a game like TF2 obviously won't be mlonely since you'll be interacting with people who arn't CPU.

Going with voice acting, it helps if the AI has good personalities. Star Wars: Republic Commando had the squad talking in between battles (Mostly Scorch and Sev :P)

Games with lots of microphone usage.

well i play something with an online freind. but i tend to find that LBP, MAG, and halo are the ones i play the most with freinds.

i would say either Half Life 2 coz you do fell the rest of the characters and Flower coz it's just relaxing

we already excluded online games D: But yea, FF11 was perfect for lonely days. 14 comes out soon, got my special edition pre orderd. yay for $80 and a $300 new graphics card since ours burnt out.

How do you find being in a relationship is any less lonely then having friends around? This thread is about if there's no one around to hang out with. Why even bring up a relationship status. If you're bashing people for not having a girlfriend or a boyfriend instead of playing games. That's like saying if you have a g/f you're never lonely or play games. Even when I have a boyfriend, it's not like he wasaround 24-7 nor are my friends. Hence the thread being best videogame when you're lonely.

Something freaky like Resident Evil, BioShock or Dead Space. Also make sure that it's midnight.

Haha, that's cute. I used to have it on my ds, but my friend would always chase me around swinging his bug net at me so i stoped playing :( plus i was always up at night so everything was closed hahah

Whenever I'm lonely, I kick back and boot up a game of Counter Strike Source, preferably bomb mode or zombie mod.

Luckily the my present wife and kids mean that I rarely get the chance to be lonely. When they're away and my friends aren't online though I like to play story intensive games like RPGs. Something upbeat and humorous is good like Sam and Max or Deathspank too as, when you stop playing, you want to have forgotten about being lonely and up your spirits.

One thing I wouldn't advise is playing something like Condemned with the volume up and lights off. :) I did that once and, after about 6 hours was very jumpy when walking around the empty house at 3am :) Bloody funny actually!

When I'm lonely I don't play videogames I go out and get company :D

Fallout 3 is always fun when I feel lonely, because I don't need anyones else to play with and it helps because the whole idea of the game is a wastland.

I would surely say an open-world RPG such as Oblivion,Morrowind, Fable, Fable II, Fallout 3, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Dragon Quest IX, Dark Cloud 1 and 2, or even another good RPG that allows for a lot of freedom, like pokemon, Dragon Quest VIII, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance etc.

These games have very intelligent NPC's and will allow you to become enthralled in the game.

Persona 3 & 4. THey come with substitute friends and even ,at times, can make you care about their world more than your own depending on how your life is going.

You can play Portal for a fun evening and then get Fallout 3, you might get a week of gameplay, wasteland is a HUGE place.

When i´m lonely i like to play buzz on line, it is a funny game to play with other people

I would have to go with any of the sims games for this one.
