Best/Favorite Weapon EVER in a Game

I've gotta say the cerebral bore from Turok:2 is my favorite weapon. Basically it shoots a small drill which homes in on the enemies head and explodes once it drills inside. It was effective, entertaining, and made an epic splunshing noise.

What weapons in games do you think are the best?

I really like the lancer in Gears of War.

I have yet to find a more satisfying weapon in any game. The Supershotgun is great as well but it's not as solid and reliable as the single-shotty.

My all time favorite is the Shark Gun from Armed & Dangerous. It fires of a metal shark fin. When it hits the gound it "swims" off to the target. Just as it reaches the target it dives underground. The next thing you see is a massive great white shark eat the target whole. It will then swim off to the nearest next victim.

The gun that came in second is the stake gun from Painkiller. There is something satisfying about nailing someone to a wall with a big wooden stake.

I totally agree. The sound FX is known industry wide.

the mighty crowbar.. only in half life 2 though.. This is the greatest idea and well executed weapon in the history of gaming!

What do you mean by only in Half Life 2? :? Its in all of them.

The Farsight XR-20. I heart that gun and owning noobs in multiplayer with it. My friends banned me from using it after a while.
