But Cloud doesn't even use his own badassness, he steals it from Zack. Link earns his baddassery.

Link has been in 14 games and wastes all baddies in his way, and he doesn't speak a word while he's doing it!despa1r_fact0r

and (dependinf on the game) makes little whimpers when he swings his sword... Cloud has endured extreme psychological trauma, thus potentially making him unstable, solemn, and perhaps violent. I'd be more cared of Cloud. Plus he has OmniSlash.

I'm not talking trash either, because I am a Legend of Zelda fan (have been since SNES)... just throwing around some "devil's advocate"...

it's a strange comparation, because cloud is a character with personality. link is a character createt to make you feel like the main character so he has not too much personality on it's own. bardos-the-3rd

I was thinking that too. Link is a sort, "Put yourself in his shoes" type character, while Cloud is somebody you watch develop throughout the game. I like them both personally...I can't really choose. :P

Tough choice. Huge fan of LoZ and FF7.

I'd have to say Cloud, but then in LoZ:TP, Link did some odd...sounds in the end of the game, which Cloud would probably never make. Okay, forget what I said lol. I say Cloud, but then he inherits most of his badass personality from Zack.

Why do people say that Cloud inherited his sh!+ from Zack? I don't get it Isn't he the one who kicked Sephiroth's ass. He just pretended to be in Soldier in the beginning of the game & not as Zack ok. And also Cloud & Zack are the same age so Cloud can't possibbly look to him as a mentor. He was a peer who gave Cloud advice to be his best that's it. Cloud learned how to be badass with his new friends & not from Zack. I'm sick & tired of people saying that Zack is better than Cloud for crying out loud Zack is dead!

He got the Buster Sword, haircut and memories from Zack. At least from my understanding. I think Zack was the one who looked up to Sephy and ended up seeing Nibelheim be burned down and Sephiroth become an insane religious weirdo, not Cloud. Part of being badass is using your own badassness, not using somebody else's. Again, only disc 1.

Coud one-on-one is dangerous... 4x Slash coupled with HP Absorb, Counter, Quadra Magic coupled with Gravity, Mega All and Slash All (just in case), and W-Summon with Knights of the Round... plus he has OmniSlash... needless to say in a one-on-one battle, the fight would be heavily stacked against Link... poor little guy would have no hope at all... that is why the question isn't "who would win in a fight?"

But Link acts more "grown up" than Cloud. Cloud is always whining and miserable. He's depressed half the time. Have you watched Advent Children the movie? Yeah, sure, that's just one part of the story but I say Link. He's more baddass and he risked it all to save the Princess, AND..to save the world, of course. ;)

a slingshot??? are you serious? ummm... ok... Cloud can withstand the force of the glalaxy collapsing on itself (i.e. Sephiroth and Super-Nova) and prevent a meteor from destroying the entire world. So again, I ask you: a slingshot???

cloud can level up and link can't ,so a level 7 cloud could loose but a 99 only needs to use a low level spell to win

Let's face it, Cloud doesn't stand a chance against Link. Link has a very large variety of weapons and items at his disposal, but we will just list the Ocarina of Time items/weapons in this comparison.

Link has: Boomerang, Bombs, Bombchu's, Biggoron's Sword, Master Sword, Hookshot/Longshot, Fairy Bow & Fire/Ice/Holy Arrows, Silver/Golden Gauntlets, Gorgon/Zora/Green Tunics, Lens of Truth, Mirror/Hyrule Shield, 20 Hearts, Large Magic Bar, Improved Defense, Ocarina of Time, The magic spells from the 3 great fairies of magic, 4 bottles with various magic/life medicines.

Cloud has: Various sword-type weapons namely the Ultima Sword and the Buster Sword, Tons of different armor and accessories, lots of materia namely Ultima, Life 2, Final Attack, Counterattack, and Haste, and Limit Breaks.

Now, if you were to strip both of them down to Link's Master Sword and Cloud's Buster Sword, in a fair fight, Link had WAY more combat experience than Cloud and I would bet that Link would come out on top just based on skill with a sword.

yes, but look it this way the second sword of link has double of power than the first and the definitive weapon has double strength so ant the end you have 4 times the strength of the begining and in hearts you start with 3 and end with 20(if you find them). so he never gets so much better if you compare the initial strength and energy of cloud.

isn't this discussion of who is stronger a little bit absurd, they are never even similar games. if you were comparing cloud with squall it would be worth a discussion but this remembers me to a blog were they were comparing naruto and goku.

Tingle is the most badass out of the two.
