You even get your own drill and rivet gun, not to mention you can steal little sisters from other Big Daddies. The GI article claims that when you've got a sister following you, she will stop and harvest adam from the corpses and give some to you (you need to protect her during the harvesting phase). They really seem to be doing everything to make the player feel like they're playing as one of the lumbering behemoths from the original. But I especially liked hearing about the ability to use firearms and plasmids at the same time, as well as mixing plasmids. Sounds cool..I'm just not so sure about this Big Sister (apparently one of the girls Jack rescues from the original, all grown up).
Pretty sure you play as the "1st Big Daddy" at least that'ss what I recall from the Game Informer article.Ghost_WarriorFrom the little bit of previews we have heard, yes, you play as the 'first' (prototype) big-daddy... IGN did a podcast on the amount of plot-holes just waiting for this game now... Despite how much I loved Bioshock, the sequel looks like a marketing attempt at cashing in, which is quite worrisome to me.
It can't be one of the girls jack rescues from the original game. If your playing as one of the 1st Big Daddies, then this was a time before Jack came to rapture and freed the little sisters. You even get your own drill and rivet gun, not to mention you can steal little sisters from other Big Daddies. This is because Jack didn't have ful access to Rapture, so this Big Daddy could have just been in some area Jack couldn't get to.

I'm just quoting the GI article. The article clearly states that this game takes place after the events of the original. I'm not going to tell you that what the article says about the story makes a whole lot of sense, but this is what it says. I doubt that the narrative and audio files will have the same quality as the original game. Like an above poster stated - this game strikes me as a cash-in more than anything. I'm still eagerly awaiting it, but the first game didn't strike me as needing a sequel and I have a feeling Bioshock 2 will prove it...at least in the narrative department. Gameplay sounds fun, though.
